Reasons Why E3 09 Was Awesome

This year's E3 was one of the greatest in history. It had something for absolutely everybody. I myself did not actually attend the convention, but I did watch the three press conferences. I was especially interested in Sony's press conference, as I recently bought a PlayStation 3 and I couldn't wait to see what kind of games would be coming out in the near future. Uncharted 2 looks like it will address many of the problems people had with the original, but I wonder if there will be any aliasing, because that has become commonplace in Naughty Dog games. I also think that it's interesting for Sony to be making ModNation Racers. It really does seem like the first real evolution of the kart racing genre. I also look forward to Sony's motion controller and how they will integrate it into games. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time will probably be the first evolution of the series, although I wonder if Insomniac will continue to make Ratchet & Clank games in the future, as this series has been one of the best in Sony history IMO. Meanwhile, the Nintendo conference was pretty good, but the game I am most looking forward to is Super Mario Galaxy 2. If this game manages to better the original (note to Nintendo: please allow us to keep our extra lives after we turn off the console. That was very annoying in the original.) I think that we may have another contender for greatest game of all time. Microsoft's conference didn't interest me that much, as I have yet to purchase an Xbox 360, though I have to admit that Project Natal looks pretty amazing. Can't wait to see how the next few years turn out.

A Word to All Fanboys

This console generation has generated a lot of hatred as of late. Seriously, pretty much everyone just picks their personal preference of the three consoles this generation and then calls it the best. Well here's a news flash for you people: it's all a matter of opinion. You can't prove which console is the best, nor can you prove which one is the worst. I have two of them, and I like them both equally. Also, whoever thinks that this generation has already been decided, I have a little news for you: despite the fact that Sony is in third place right now, just look at the previous generation. The PS2 sold six times as well as the other consoles, and despite the fact that the Wii has sold nearly double the amount of the 360 and more than double the PS3, we still can't just decide who's won this early in the generation. And the fact is, when there's this kind of healthy competition, the only winners are us gamers.

Games I must have in 2009

1. Pokemon Platinum (own it, it rocks)

2. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (must. buy. this. game. now.)

3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (I'll have to finish the first one first though)

4. inFamous (I'm working on playing through the Sly Cooper series now)

5. TMNT Smash Up (this game looks like it will be the first good Turtles game)

My Best Pokemon

I just got Arceus the other day. It is most certainly my best Pokemon (my second best being Darkrai, which I also got the other day). All I had to trade was my level 57 Dragonite and my level 100 Registeel, and Arceus and Darkrai were mine.

Reasons I Need to Have Ratchet & Clank Future

1. The graphics rock.

2. The weapons are amazing.

3. Ratchet & Clank is awesome.

4. It's got goldfish in battlesuits.

5. The cutscenes are hilarious.

6. The characters and environments look incredible.

8. If you still need a reason, there is something wrong with you.
