It whould have been nice if they compared it to Ati 's flagship at least so we all can see the diference of price & how many FPS you have + so that you pay 650 $ & not 480$ for an ATi 3870 X2 ! Anyway i wanna see ATi's 4000 series & after i will buy & who knows maybe Ati will get lucky & get the god damn drivers right from the start SURPRISINGLY ATi's cards allways have a higher clock (memory/core) & a higher shader & transitor count & a higher 3Dmark benchmark GX2 vs X2 i mean but it is begind in games !
360 uses Ati & the same with the PC ...Nvidia has a bit lower image quality but more speed because of the drivers .... ATI has superior power but not well optimized drivers alltough it everytime BEATS Nvidia cards in 3Dmark tests because 3dmark dosen't neeed drivers to present to the user the full potential of the card !
Well 1st we all know that after 1-2 driver updates this card will show its true power + allready it is priced the same as an 8800 GTX .... & its better than it & evan the ULTRA but not by much , but still the 8800 ULTRA has evan a higher price so its worth it + AMD/ATI promised a GDDR4 version of the 3870 X2 till summer & that's going to be evan more powerfull + i'm sure the Nvidia 9*** GX2 versions will bee more costly by 50$-100$ or evan more ! Anyway i saw on a website that the 3870 is the best card price/benchmark .... so whould like to see it now reseted or after the GX2 appears !
Well if you look at tom's hardware ... you will se that the AMD surpasses the best intel QX outhere in processing ( unrar , mpeg etc.) but in games its a little below a Q6600 .... but if you want it to use it for work its a much better choice & olso its one li 1.2% slower than a Q6600 in games .... anyway i'm loooking foreword to se more of the AMD family of Quad Core's ....for now i use a E6700 !
The only thing i hate at this tests.... is that no 1one at gamespot whants to try out the 2900 XT OEM 1gb ddr 4 version ...... or when its realeased the 1gb version for the 3870 !
Well either the version with 1gb of gddr4 or 3 ram wasn't lucnhed yet or they didn't want to try them them out ... anywya i'm a 2900 Xt user never had a problem !
