Should the man apoligize for making an awesome game on a system that is sorely lacking in hardcore fare?

I mean, obviously. What a dick.

And to be quite fair to the man, the game did not sell in Japan where it released first. Fairy abysmal sales, which quite certainly justify his comments. You people act like this is some radical statement, when in reality, this is the way things are wih the Wii. Casual gaes and Nintendo games sell. Anything else needs to be extraordinarily polished, marketed, an targeted to sell well on the Wii. It's not a hardcore machine, and I think that should be obviously by this point in it's lifecycle. That doesn't mean we don't love it, but we should accept it for what it is, which is not a console that will be very appealing to the hardcore outside of Nintendo's offerings and the occasional bone we get tossed like Zack and Wiki or No More Heroes.

The mans comments are perfectly founded in fact. Hardcore games just do not sell all that well on the Wii.

Yet more jumping ship. I predict Alex won't be the last. Seems like Alex and Frank waited until they could secure work elsewhere before making their exits, so we could certainly see more of a delayed fallout here.

A significant chunk of the editorial talent here at GS has been gouged out in the course of two months Should be interesting to see where they go from here.

[QUOTE="ElBanano216"]

And this is important.............why?

People get fired. People leave. Grow up.

KHfanboy2

YES! Agreeing FTFW!

Just grow the **** up ppl! So a person gets fired, big whoop. No use crying over spilt over spilt milk.

It's more the credibility issue here, rather than the fact taht someone got fired. It's kinda hard to trust this site for reviews if you know they're not being objective.

Granted, we don't know, but that's why this whole thing is such a big deal.

[QUOTE="Darkkend"]The controller makes a difference in the score because I don't think the fans really like adapting to the new style, instead of using the N64 controller. The wii remote kind of takes away from the old school experience if that makes sense.walrusgod

That makes the most sense to me. Any time a game is rereleased on a system with a different controller, the game is going to suffer. It was made to be played on the N64 controller, so having to use the Wiimote would probably not be as intuitive for the game.

You guys do know that ou don't play N64 games with a Wiimote right? You can use a Classic Controller or a Gamecube controller, bt not the Wiimote.

What the *** is everyone crying about ??? Its not like all the reviewers got fired!! I honestly cant believe why anyone would be upset about this. I still love this site and will always use it as my game bible.aus_pride
The concern here is possible corruption within the Game reviewing system, which should be a problem for anyone who trusts this site's reviews. Not that one guy got fired, but rather, why he was fired (allegedly).

Wow, Eidos must really want this game to sell. IN addition to the shenanigans they pulled here, they're apparently faking review scores on the games official website. The scent of desperation is thick in the air.

This thread is my latest, I am assuming this one will get locked shortly

Subject: Moderators acting like the secret police

Why are the moderators on this forum acting like the secret police of a fascist regime, locking threads left and right? We are only expressing are opinions and some of us actually have paid a subscription fee to do so!

TheRaiderNation
No, if the moderators were being facist, they'd lock this thread too. They just don't want the forum completely clogged up with posts about Jeff, so they funnal all the discussion into one topic. They just want to keep the forum running smoothly, without itbeing filled with hundreds of superflous Jeff topics.

[QUOTE="fishingalex"][QUOTE="Firelore29"]

[QUOTE="fastesttruck"][QUOTE="Firelore29"]I wonder if this thread hits 10,000 posts if it will cause Gamespot to spontainiously combust and Gamespot as we know it will end? Everyone keep posting I want to see it!Firelore29

No that won't happen. a 10K topic is not something new. there have been a hand ful of them already

What threads have been over 10k? I've never seen a thread get anywhere near that.

There is one in the system wars board but it has been up for over 2 months. This one is almost to 10K in under 3 days

If your talking about the SSBB thread it isn't at 10k.

I believe he's talking about the System Wars Bets thread.

It's over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAND!fishingalex
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

You beat me to the obligatory DBZ reference! *slaps*

I gotta say though, reading the staff blogs has given me a lot of interesting viewpoints and things to think about. Clearly none of them are happy with the situation, but they're not really in a position to do much about it.
