Your video card does not meet the system requirements.

I want the gameplay to stay the same, but I do want a new release of this game for PC with 1080p graphics, PhysX, DirectX 11, HBAO, and TXAA. That would be awesome if this could be released on Steam.

Has anyone actually had worse performance since the last patch? I've been crashing about once an hour now whereas before it happened, but it seemed pretty rare.

I have not noticed any degrade in performance. (It actually improved a bit since I updated my AMD Catalyst video card driver to 11.11.) As for the crashing, adjust your audio setting to 44.1 khz. A sample rate of 48 khz or higher is causing the crashes. I never had the game crash on 44.1 khz.

Not only are PCs more powerful than consoles, but PC gamers do not need to worry about RRoDs and seemingly-endless PSN outages. Now if only we can get games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, and Mortal Kombat ported over to PCs...

The game installed with no problems and the default graphic setting was set to ultra high. It ran better after lowering the audio sample rate settings. (48 khz audio caused intermittent crashes.) Averages between 30-40 fps on ultra high settings (1920x1080), but 45-55 fps on high settings. Slight fps lag, but not bad enough to be a nuisance. I never expected the game to run perfectly, anyway. Great game so far, but I hate it when I attack a town guard and get hunted down until I get thrown in jail. Warning: do not attack a mammoth until you are at least Level 50.

I had my audio setting on 24-bit 48 khz (for the purpose of Blu-ray video playback) and has occasional CTDs in Whiterun. I changed the audio to 24-bit 44.1 khz and not only has the game stopped crashing, but the game ran considerably smoother. I would like to find out how I could have an application use an exclusive audio setting on Windows 7. I would be tired of constantly switching audio settings every time I watch a Blu-ray film and launch Skyrim.

I just purchased the Philips O'Neill The Stretch white headphones for 50% off the original price at Best Buy. Better audio quality with HD sound and noise cancelling. It has an increased volume level compared to my old Sony headphones and that's great for PC games and movies. Sounds great with DTS-HD Master Audio on Blu-ray films and that's great since my DVD home theater system does not encode lossless audio or DTS. Great headphones for the price. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
