Did I read that right? "He or she"? If so, then FINALLY. I've been wanting to play as a female wrestler forever. I wonder how different/shorter it would be to play as a woman instead of man. Hopefully it's not just an afterthought or, even better, just let them to the regular story mode against men. But I doubt that'll happen.

You summed up perfectly where my one of major problems with this franchise is:

"...the game struggles with allowing meaningful gains to be made in short bursts."

I don't mind grinding, in fact I kind of enjoy it, but it has to be done right. With my other favorite loot games, Borderlands, Destiny, and Phantasy Star Online (I know, old school!) I totally enjoyed it. With BL and PSO I'd know which enemy had which legendary, so I'd have targeted grinds or runs I'd do over and over, and when I DID get a legendary drop, it'd be what I wanted! Woohoo! There's so much grinding in this, and when you finally get a legendary/exotic drop, there's no telling what it is, and, most likely, it's going to be something I don't care about.

While this also happened in Diablo (no idea what legendaries you're going to get), in that game you could do rifts and usually run out with an average of 10-20 legendaries, and 80% of them did something badass. Even if you somehow didn't get legendaries at the higher levels, you could upgrade gems to increase your stats, and sell boring weapons and use the elements to upgrade weapons you do love.

The other gripe that I've got with the Destiny franchise is that the weapons are just sooooo boring. Legendaries are basically the same as green weapons except you get one perk, and that one perk is pretty unremarkable. You still play the game the same way and with the same guns with every character pretty much. Exotics have character, but only being able to equip one at a time means you have to have 2 boring weapons equipped as well. YAWN. In BL and Destiny, you'd run with different weapons depending on your character to make them as badass as possible. Let me shoot a rocket launcher that causes massive damage to everything in front of me then switch to a gun that shoots seven explosive rounds per trigger pull while my deployed turret shoots rockets at people with a shield up to protect me!

K finished venting

Aye.. I don't really like having multiple versions of consoles. I understand the reasoning though. But my will has been broken lol. I'm just an old gamer.... when there were 5-8 years or so between consoles, so I knew when I bought one (well, when my parents bought one for me at that age lol) I was all set for a while. With technology constantly improving, spending $500 will only get you 3 years or so before you start to feel obsolete. . It's pretty crazy to think about though.. I bought mine within the first few weeks of release (11/13) , and bettwen '13 and '17:

- X1, 500 GB, Kinect

- X1, 500 GB, no Kinect

- X1 S, 2 TB

- X1 Scorpio, 2 TB, 4K, HDR, 4.5x as powerful

Almost yearly upgrades/changes

I really don't think they should do these stupid incremental upgrades. Either way, anyone looking for the best experience is going to have to purchase another console. Instead of making .5 upgrades, just start making the next console. All about money is all I see.

Ehh.... looks cool, lots of style, but I can see that getting real old real fast. Hopefully the rest of the game will keep it fresh

This looks pretty terrible. But I guess as it is a remaster, that's to be expected. But I surely won't be buying this game. I don't think there's much value to remastering it.

i LOVED this series back in the N64 days though. The first time I saw the brain drill and throwing blade weapons destroying people and animals I was like WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Confession time - I didn't watch the videos. But I wanted to comment anyway. If there's an option to create a girl, I do so. Simply because I'd rather look at a sexy girl throughout the games than a guy.

No psychology for me lol. The only times I've created guys is when there's no option to create a girl or, at least until like Smackdown 2008 maybe, I wanted to create a "me" character for the game. But that's not very likely

But I'm sure there are psychological reasons for other people.

I'd forgotten about the no LFG (had to look up what that means lol) aspects of the biggest raids. I do admit that's kind of a drag. I definitely don't have enough friends on XBOX Live to organize that, so I guess I have to accept that I won't be able to do some of the main raids. Lame. I just play with randoms and only then if it's a strike/Crucible/public event. I'm undoubtedly more of a single player kinda guy. So I don't bother making relationships with people I meet on XBOX Live because I don't like talking or anything - I don't even wear my headset. And only a few of my real life friends play games anymore.

I'm almost 32 hours in. As long as there's a semi-steady reward system it'll probably keep me coming back. I played the hell out of Borderlands 2 until I had all the legendaries and pearls, so perhaps this game will keep me occupied longer than a lot of others since I'm in it for the loot primarily.

I don't get all the hate for this game (Destiny in general; I'm still new to it and haven't even done Vault of Glass so maybe that's why). Maybe I just haven't reached that breaking point yet. However, for me, farming and rare/hidden item finds are why I play games. The main games I've played and loved recently are Borderlands 2 (I've got TPS but haven't gotten as into that one; just feels like Borderlands 2.25 instead of an all new game, and most of the legendary items are reshashes of BL2's), Dead rising (finding all the blueprints and hidden stuff throughout the city was great fun), Sunset Overdrive (Just all around fun, PLUS it has the balloons/signs/phones/ all other kinds of hidden goodies to find), and this game. I'll probably keep playing it for a while since I enjoy the gunplay plus I have the added bonus of finding legendaries/exotics. Maybe I just got lucky, but my grinding really hasn't been that bad and I've gotten a few legendary items already. Hoping for more of course
