@MonsieurX: It used technology way ahead of its time. The Wiimote pales in comparison. The accuracy of the eye was scary good. The handheld device had pinpoint accuracy. Very innovative and daring IMO.

Wise words from a very wise leader. Sony has contributed to the human race on so many levels, not just gaming. Folding@home was hugely successful in helping cancer research. The military has even used PS3s for advanced computational functions due to the super-advanced Cell processor, helping keep the world safe.

Sony has continued to define what "next gen" means, and now since we are segwaying into a new era where consoles may be released on a 3 year cycle, it appears Sony is going to, again, lead the charge with the PS3 Pro. Micro$oft will, again, be trailing behind with their Scorpio, which may not even release until 2018. It's an exciting time because, like what Apple has done with the iPhone, Sony will now do with console cycles. Two great companies working in their respective fields to make the world a better place.

What do you all think of the new console cycle concept?

@MonsieurX: Move was impressive. Definitely could have used more 3rd party support, but I thought it was extremely innovative. Kinect was a flop, and the Wii fad has finally died, but Sony still stands strong. VR is their follow up to Move, and I expect it to continue to revolutionize gaming.

@MonsieurX: Lair was very underrated. One of the better games the first year of PS3's existence.

@nathanbats: I disagree. It costs a lot of money to maintain an online service. It's not like hardware where once they sell it they aren't financially responsible for anything outside of the normal warranty coverage. Besides, you get what you pay for, so if you want "free" then you'll just get garbage service. Sony has been extremely generous and provided great service for PS3, but I wanted them to start charging so we could see even better service, and we got it! They've also been generous enough to offer us free games.

@nathanbats: Lol, oh I thought you were going to say like $1,000 or something more reasonable than $1M. Troll.

I would pay about 1 million bucks for PSN

A bit rich for me, but if there is any company out there that deserves it, it's Sony.

2030 with 4tflops and an overclocked cellphone cpu. my body is ready.

2030 seems a bit optimistic, but I could easily see Sony supporting it till 2030 after having released PS5 around 2026-2027. I'm looking at PS5 having 15-20 tflops, but we shall see.
