@Nestea01:

Apparently it's not on the xbox app on pc at all. Not even to buy. Can only get it on Epic store due to exclusivity deal they made hence why it's not on gp-pc. The deal runs out in April so I guess it may appear on GP pc then.

@Nestea01: There have been times where the odd game gets left off PC Gamepass. Looking at the Gamepass homepage website on Dead Island 2 it says "Play it on Console or Cloud with Gamepass Ultimate" but no mention of Windows/PC so I guess PC gamers are just unlucky.

I'll still have a look at the PC GP app when I get in but I don't hold too much hope.

*Edit* Have just read that the game is exclusive to the Epic Store on PC hence why it's not on GP-PC.

Back when specs were first revealed MS said a small part of the cpu die was tailored for machine learning for "Character behaviour & Resolution Scaling" so I think this OS level upscaling tech for PC could be precisely what it's used for on Xbox too with a incoming patch perhaps?

I'm still very unsure about what the Xbox can do that PS5 can't. I think a lot of it is speculation as MS spelled out all of the intricacies of xbox's hardware capabilities while Sony are very careful about what they do and don't reveal. Plus XBox uses Direct X so they use DX terminology whereas Sony use their own API and terminology. eg Xbox has Mesh Shaders, PS5 has Geometry Engine, both are the same thing. I mean a game like Alan Wake 2 relies on the technique (Try running the game on any gfx card that doesn't support mesh shaders & you'll be watching a slide show) yet PS5 runs the game just fine.

Some say the PS5 has no machine learning capabilities but then the only game I know of that successfully uses AI/ML for "character behavior" would be the Sophy AI that got added to Gran Turismo 7 on PS5. I guess the behavior part could all be handled server side as it's a online only game? but then that would mean Sophy could be on the PS4 version but it is not suggesting the PS5's more capable cpu does some/most of the work. And while Microsoft tell us Forza Motorsport also uses AI for realistic opponents there doesn't seem to be much evidence of this. In fact the AI in the new Forza Motorsport has come under fire for being dumb and dangerous making it impossible to race against cleanly as they'll just ram you off the track.

Guessing this includes those, like me, who got it AGAIN on PS+ Extra when it was added in December? Thought I'd try it just to see what is was like on PS5 with the DualSense controller and to see the ray tracing -Which offer better reflections than even the unmodded PC version but the RT shadows are pretty much the same as the PCSS shadows on PC.

I'm positive they're already well into development of Part 3. Over the years I've seen many interviews and podcasts etc with the main actors, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson. And they say work started on TLoU2 pretty much as soon as the "Left Behind" DLC for part one came out on PS3. And in the Grounded 2 behind the scenes video you see Neil Druckmann pitching his ideas for Part 2 to his team in 2013. . before the Left Behind DLC (and maybe before Part 1) was even out.

I bet he had a small team working on engine tweaks and gameplay concepts for part 3 while the main team were working on the, now cancelled, multiplayer. So I reckon they ramped up production on Part 3 when they cancelled the multiplayer which was probably about a year ago (even though they only announced it fairly recently). Part 3 for 2027?? The tv series would probably have just about caught up by then too.

@Simulator_Shock: There is a genuine reason for that though. As soon as they revealed that TLoU2 was coming it was clear that Ellie loses something/someone close which is why she wants to "kill every last one of them". And in the next trailer they showed that Ellie is witnessing someone close being hurt/killed. With her pinned down pleading "No. . please stop!" etc.

The only person we know she is close to is Joel so they had to show that she has a love interest in the marketing to make people think it was her girlfriend that is hurt/killed, not Joel.

@Xylymphydyte: Yeah some weird choices for sure. I disagree about the music for TLoU though. The guitar music by Gustavo is iconic and very quickly became my favourite game soundtrack of all time, albeit over a decade ago so still a bit weird for being so old I guess.

@ember_to_flame: You might be confusing Evil West with Weird West. Evil West hasn't been on GP.
