Thanks for your feedback and suggestion.  I'm just trying some ad-blocker software now and I'm pretty happy with the results.  These concerns still need to be heard by GameSpot though - especially if circumventing their ads is the solution which I imagine is not at all ideal for GameSpot or their ad partners.  The bottom line is I like this site and hate the ads so for me the options are to not visit this site or use software to bypass the ads.

I've been a member of GameSpot since 2003 and was a paying member almost as long.  I loved this site and visited multiple times a day.  With the removal of the paid subscription and hence no way of avoiding the incessant advertising - epsecially at the start of EVERY video I attempt to watch - my usage of this site has dropped almost to zero.  It's extremely unfortunate as this was my go-to site for those little work breaks throughout the day and just my go-to site for all things video games.  Since the removal of the paid subscription service I've moved over almost exclusively to IGN.  While I prefer GameSpot in almost every way over IGN the requirement of watching advertisements before every single video clip is just too much to bear.  I haven't yet purchased an IGN subscription to avoid advertisements altogether but I'm close.

Is there any hope on the horizon that a paid GameSpot subscription is coming back?  If not can we at least not be subjected to advertisements before each and every video clip?  Perhaps IGN's model for video advertising (seems to be a 15-20% chance of encountering one) can be implemented?  It's really a shame that advertisements are pushing me (and I have to imagine others) away from this site when I'm willing to pay to get rid of them.  Wouldn't you rather have my money to avoid advertisements than have me stop visiting this site altogether and get zero add revenue?  It really makes me feel undervalued as a customer - am I just a drop in the bucket that won't be missed?
