I was able to "find" the majority of mine this semester. Unfortunately one of my professors is making our exam open book, and only the textook is allowed (can't bring an ebook to the exam:P) so i had to spend $150 just so i could use it a couple of months from now for three hours.

this may sound strange but do you have any clue about setting up servers?

I have a group project and we have to create an android application, more specifically a messaging application.

We need to set up a server to allow two phones to communicate with one another.

I tried for like 8 hours last night, followed tutorials etc. Still no luck.

I have a database created on localhost and using mySQL, however i can't access it from Java.

Not sure if you know how to, but you seemed like the person to ask.
