Can someone explain what a kickstarter campaign is? I've seen a lot of them announced lately. Is it basically indie game devs asking for public donations to fund their project? roboccs
That is exactly what it is. http://www.kickstarter.com/discover/categories/video%20games/most-funded?ref=more#p1 the above link are the most successful projects on kickstarter. How it works is the fans of a game see something that they want to "back". they do so by pledging x amount of dollars. depending on how much they pledge they get different rewards. The kickstarter project has to say how much money they want to raise by a certain date. If they meet the goal the developers get the money raised, if not they don't get any money.
Anyone here interested in the Sony announcement this evening? I'm guessing I will not watch it live since that's dinner time but I'll be checking in to read some of the news stories.
I know a lot of people here have bagged Sony in the past but I personally loved my PS3. The Wii and PS3 were very good compliments to one another. I'm sure it would have been the same if I had a Wii and 360.

I'm very excited for it. If it is not the PS4 announcement so many people will be disappointed. I'm looking forward to seeing how big of a graphical leap the next generation will bring.
Blasted paczkis... I know it's fat Tuesday but I've never liked the paczkis. They make you feel like crap after eating them, like there's this big lump of crap in your belly and they are just BAD for you. I went to get some donuts this morning to a place that I've never been but have been dying to try... NO DONUTS... ONLY PACZKIS!! Crap. I've been craving a frosted jelly-filled donut for a week and they didn't have any. I tried the local Dunkin Donuts and they had donuts but a limited selection... and no frosted jelly-filled ones...
Bummer...
And I give up coffee for lent every year too... so I'll be loading up on caffine all day!!!

I have no clue what paczkis' are. I also could not live without my coffee :p They are basically cream or jelly-filled pastries that are REALLY REALLY bad for you. I believe it's a Polish tradition to eat them on fat Tuesday (the day before Lent starts). Paczki is prounounced "poonch-kee" I've been trying to eat better lately. I was getting really out of shape and just eating for badly. So far so good. Eating better while doing the P90X Insanity has been great. I'm 2 weeks in to the workout and it's still hard as hell which is a good thing. Giving up coffee is the hardest thing for me to do, that's why I've chosen to do it the last few years. I gave up video games 5 or so years ago and it really was not too hard at all. Probably because I normally don't get to play that much during the week so the only time I would really be "tested" is on weekends. I drink 2 cups or so of coffee a day and I just love it. It's good to detox every once in awhile though :P I have two a day Minimum. When midterms/exams come around i can go up to five :P
I think i have an addiction. If i don't have coffee in the morning i have horrible a headache and i just want to sleep during the day.
Also P90X is great. It'll tone you up. I wasnt really into the yoga or the karate one (i dunno what its called but it has all of these punches and kicks), but other than that i enjoyed it. It is a lot cheaper than a gym membership

I've been gaming on Steam since the summer and the deals you find on PC are just amazing. I don't even have what people would consider a real "gaming rig" and it's still great. You simply don't see these kind prices on console games.
I would be perfectly content with just being a WiiU/3DS/PC gamer next gen; just need a new graphics card is all. That's not to say that i'm not curious about PS4/720.
My main problem with PC gaming is that you can't play on the couch or in bed.
You can buy a wireless adapter that plugs into a usb slot that connects to xbox controllers. So your main problem isn't really a problem :P
First time in five years that Ryerson has actually cancelled classes. I am confused. I had one two years ago as well. I seriously wasnt expecting a snow day. Last night there wasn't a drop of snow at 2am. this morning i wake up at 7:00 and it is completely white outside. I didn't do anything productive with my day :P
