To me not really, I'm not into the "lotta schwag" special editions like this. Not into useless chochkes (deposit box, duffel bag, action figures), im more into making of dvds, and stuff that will fit into a smaller case. I just dont have space for the stuff, plus im not gonna show it off to people.
I could see why someone would want it (you DO get a lot of stuff) but I like special editions like Mass Effect, Halo 3 (without the garbarge disc holders), and the upcoming Metal Gear 4 LE. The only thing that interests me from the GTA4 LE is the mini artbook and selected soundtrack, but even then Id rather buy or get a full sized artbook and download all the radio station soundtracks. Enjoy the game!
I thought the 2 weeks of no updates was only for the European PSN?The_Waffler14
no its the same for the US store too
it will be updated on the same day too
[QUOTE="azzezino"]If you're interested in backwards compatibility then do not buy the 40GB model, as it has none. Try getting an 80GB or if you're lucky and find a 60GB, then get that one.KingTuttle
Thanks for the quick response. Are one of those SKU's being discontinued? I don't want that either.
Yess the 60gb was discontinued last fall. It has hardware based PS2 compatibility at about 90-95%. They are difficult to find though and more expensive. I recommend the metal gear 80gb bundle...
here's the run down on PS2 compatibility for the PS3 systems:
40gb - no Ps2 compatibility (around 90% PSone compatibility)
80gb (both the motorstorm bundle and upcoming Metal Gear bundle) - around 80-85% PS2 compatibility (PSone compatibility same as 40gb)
The xbox 360 has about 50% compatibility.
If you wanna check to see what games you own are compatible go here:

I recommend getting the upcoming Metal Gear bundle because its the 80gb PS2 compatible system AND it comes with the new rumble enabled Dual Shock 3 controller. It comes out the week of June 12th.
