@olddadgamer: That's probably what the industry needs at this point, unless you want to keep playing the same formulaic games over and over again. We need more games like TLOU2. People are not used to it, hence the hate.
I think lootboxes should disappear but... isn't it the same as buying trading card packs, which we used to buy when we were kids? Is there any difference? I don't think it's the same as gambling, since - unlike with gambling - you always get something. It's still predatory, but I don't think it should be considered gambling.
@mgools: I've heard people who have legitimate complaints about the game and that's fine, but getting thousands of 0s on metacritic on launch day? You're on the wrong side of the fence pal. Thankfully there are lots of people who can really see the game for what it is, and ot showed last night when they won almost every single award, including game of the year.
