@timmyp1982: Of course it has nothing to do with it. Same thing with Xenosaga, although it was similar (gameplay wise) and somehow kept the "spark" of Xenogears. I never said Xenoblade sucks, there is agreement it is a great game, I am just not interested in it.

I only said they should finish what they left "unfinished". The IP owned by S-E and Monolit developing exclusively for Nintendo might be a big problem though.

*sigh* I swear this will end up being a fanmade project...

These guys now have time and money. I think it is time they remake Xenogears and "finish" it as the game it should have been. While I understand it is good to innovate, many people including me still miss and love that game despite being unfinished. I am also kind of sick of so many open world games coming out every day.

Lol, just lol. Comparing "A trip to the moon" and "Metropolis" with ME trilogy saying it is "the pinnacle" of sci-fi gaming. Dude, I have no idea if you ever played any other games before ME, but there are plenty of great sci-fi games.

Also you don't seem to know the lore. ME universe was largely based on Planescape. Yes, it was a copy-paste, but in space. The only difference being that in ME we actually find out the (terrible) secret of the galaxy, while in Planescape it is always a mistery.

I don't have any problem with you critizising ME:Andromeda but please, before you post a stupid video, do some research.

@guitarist1980: Some people actually have never played the original trilogy (or any RPG for that matter) and are just trolling the fans who love it, or BW/EA. I just cannot honestly believe you can be a fan and put a "0" to this game. I mean, that "could" happen if the game was a disaster of epic proportions or totally unplayable, but it is not the case.

@ahpuck: Yet the chaotic combat of ME1 is part of what makes it so special (and charming). But yeah you either love it or hate it.

@Prats1993: Totally different concept and definitely not for mainstream.

Thanks for the review I liked it (although not much input about MP).

Anyway, what comes now is a guess and my honest opinion of what has happened with the story and why it is probably disappointing:

I think they just could not overshadow Shepard. That is a sad truth. It is clear that BW respected that character so much that as a result, the new protagonists look bland and uninteresting in comparison. But this happened because the toxic BW fan community fervently asked for another human centric story and no galaxy prequel, no alien protagonist, only human. BW didn't want backlass from the community again, after ME3, so they decided to go into that direction, despite the fact that the ME universe had a lot of lore (the Krogan Rebellion, Rachni Wars, Geth Rebellion, etc.) that they could have worked with to deliver a great game with a compelling story. But fans come first, so they had to create a completely new (human-centric) story without messing the current trilogy. The result ultimately was Andromeda's story, were we explore a new galaxy and we fight a bad alien guy as a human protagonist.

I have not played the game (will do for sure), but for me it is clear that they couldn't put their hearts in this game as much as they wanted as it was nothing they really wanted to do. ME1? There is a lot of heart in that one. Hell, even in 2 and 3. This one lacks a soul (Legion stole it, and Shepard, and Tali, Miranda, etc.) and you can see that in the dialogue in the trailers. The combat looks certainly fun, but combat can never be the soul of an RPG, just added value.

Therefore, I agree 100% with the review. I will still buy this game though, had so much fun with the original trilogy.

@horizonwriter: Nowadays you should never pre-order anything at all. Just look at all those "early access" games in steam getting negative scores.

Yup animations and models are ugly as f***. I guess I will go back to DOAX3 for some quality right hand time, this isn't what I was expecting from a Mass Effect game :(
