@hystavito@acemcgregor: Well the article says 99.71% of their stock was traded in England and Japan, so I assume it's not a whole lot of money in the U.S. and they're just bailing as part of their "restructuring". Just wondering if you had something that was going to be a surefire hit in North America why you wouldn't invest...

My personal theory is that in the next 10 years they're going to begin dropping out of the console market and switch to making handhelds and arcade gaming primarily in Japan.

I'm no stock market expert, no sarcasm here, I barely understand the thing... But wouldn't pulling yourself off the American stock market before Metal Gear Solid 5; a highly anticipated game in a series that primarily sells BEST in North America, be an extremely stupid move? Why not wait until after the game comes out?

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> I'm probably a bit older than most gamers that these things are targeted towards, so I've come to accept that the, shall I say, esoteric gameplay of 90's PC games is a bygone era. But things like this still peak my interest. Loved what 2k did with X-Com, so I'm keeping my mind open on this title.

Sounds like this could be the spiritual successor to the SWAT series. Hopefully this isn't all developer hype talk.

I love the series, I can actually tell you what the plot of any of the canon games are all about, but even I skipped over Ground Zeroes to wait for a price drop. $20 is sounding pretty good now.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> I like the crazy story of the MGS series as well, but the Patriots existing to make money was idiotic (I know why Kojima did it, largely political reasons). It could've been much more interesting if he juxtaposed the Patriots as an instrument of peace, against Snake, who exists solely as an instrument for war.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Remember they gave a perfect 10 to MGS4? The game where everything terrible that could have been written into a finale was accomplished (Admiral Mei Ling, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" reference, Mt Rushmore submarine, quite literally ending with a wedding, etc etc) Game play was cool I guess.

I think, like many Hollywood franchises, Resident Evil may be the first popular video game series to undergo a complete reboot.

It would essentially be the same story-line but perhaps more story and character focused. ie you'd start off in the RPD station and actually meet the STARS Alpha Team members, you'd get the call to fly out into the Arkalay Mountains, actually play through the dog ambush in the woods, and "run for that house". The Capcom writers would hold off on the mansion because that would be the big moment for gamers, like in Batman Begins where you don't actually see Batman for literally an hour into the movie.

The last film (Retribution) was the first one who's profits were lower than the previous film. So this is most likely BS just to stir up interest. Then again, according to imdb, Milla's turning 40 in 2015 so maybe she's just getting too old (by Hollywood standards).
