I've been trying to get into the Silent Hill franchise for a little while now and I've been looking for a game to start with. I have no Silent Hill experience other than the movies, and I don't know if those are similar? I've found The HD collection, homecoming, and downpour? are they connected? Which do you recommend?

yeah definitely check them out. If you're new to the games, try Homecoming first. I've HC and downpour but not HD collection.
My PS3 is in my room, which can get up to 80-85 degrees F, or around 28-29 degrees Celcius. Even with air conditioning on, which I'm a little too cheap to turn on tbh, my room doesn't get much of the cool ventilation compared to downstairs. I'd want to keep the PS3 in my room, I'm just wondering if any of you have had experiences with your PS3 in this temperature or if you think it's not a good idea. I have a fat 40GB by the way.

Are you kidding me? 28C and you think the PS3 will die. Temp. here is like 38C+ and nothing happens. But preferably make sure the air conditioner is on, leave it in an open space, make sure it's not dusty around it, and preferably put it in a vertical position and you can also buy one of those intercoolers. hope I helped.
The xbox features are really not a bad add on. People just complain about the semi-Always on and used games(another rumor). They also batter xbox because they didn't show games even though E3 hasn't even arive yet. But if you think about it, we all know that X1 will be somewhat in par in terms of the hardware. Microsoft just show a little multi-tasking EXTRA feature in their console show which is NOT an E3 announcement.

I think people hate it also because of the pricey Xbox live. The useless new features like live tv which will only probably work in the US and huge focus on the Kinect which many people are not a fond of. And also the drift to the entertainment side.
I cannot believe you still haven't gotten it. One of the best atmospheres personally. and if you could get them at good price then I say go for it bro. Just make sure you like such games.
