[QUOTE="Zahxia"]It's best to check the back of the box it should tell you if a game has large save files. Fable 2 and Dragon Age: Origins would be the nastier ones at 10mb. Mass Effect 2 saves are 3mb each. Fallout 3/Oblvion saves come in at 8mb each. The appeal of a hard drive is being able to download content from XBL and install games to it. tt_rssI see, but those sizes are no trouble for a 256 internal. What are the sizes on the downloadable content like? I understand that full-fledged dlc's are probably big, but I won't buy any of those, so I am asking more about minor custom content packs(such as, say, costumes for street fighter 4) and arcade games like ikaruga, mega man 9/10 and other misc stuff like tetris or whatever. Dragon age ate up my 256mb. As for DLC it can be 100-900mb or larger for expansions,

saying japan is creative?
I dont agree whit that.
Theyare almost the same in every game, way too many manga in charachters, long hairy dudes cute little girls etc.majbros
I also LOL at this! All theyre JRPGs are WAY too stereotypical, youre right! I always envyed the Japenese because of theyre innovation, and coming out with new ideas.. could this be the end of the age of smart asian people?? No. Probably not.
Oh there's smart asian people they're just working on something that's actually important and not JRPGs and harem anime.I couldn't believe how different and "Americanized" everything about XIII was compared to past games (excluding X-2, which will always be the worst). Anyone with me? What did you like/dislike about it?amesthemightyFF13 was the opposite of anything expected from a game modelled for western markets especially for an RPG. From its peppy jpop soundtrack, the lack of branching paths, very little character customisation or plot development is in the players hands, it still uses an ATB system, its cast of characters are walking anime cliches (and feature Nomura's trademark art style that makes characters look as though they survived an explosion at the belt and hair dye factory), it heavily favoured spectacle over gameplay... I'm just going to stop there.
Say what you will about FF13 it is a Japanese RPG.
when you look at the last generation and you consider games like Katamari Damacy or Okami you do see the Japanese have the ability to make creative and even charming games. (Sure they might not be run away successes commercially but that's no different to Psychonauts, Beyond Good & Evil or Prince of Persia released the same year) The key difference is that the east has seen arcades and consoles as the focus and the west has seen PC and Console as the focus. Certainly this generation consoles have become a bigger focus. PC developers are either moving to consoles or porting their games to multiple platforms (Epic, Bioware, Valve and id for example.)
This has seen a rapid adoption of features that up until the Dreamcast/Xbox weren't assosiated with consoles before. Hard drives, online play, custom soundtracks, messaging and social features, consoles becoming a part of our home network and even the ability to save anywhere the player wishes. When I read news about Xenoblade and it's big features are 'save anywhere' and basically a wait/fast travel system Bethesda introducted years ago I can't help but feel the Japanese are just a bit to slow to embrace the shift. As far as appeal goes since the PS1 days the mainstream Japanese games (especially action and RPG genres) have been relying far too much on spectacle and far too much on anime cliches.
Sorry Japan but we don't love you like we did in 1997.
