[QUOTE="YourExpert"] The ps3 offers little more then a blu-ray player. It's a wanna-be pc, with a linux os and gives you about as much options as your standard ipod. Sure you can watch blu-ray movies but very few of us really care. I don't agree that the space of a blu-ray disk is needed in the gaming buisness at this time. darrowby88and Blue dragon looks to be the best 360 game yet and its 3 DVD'S (thats THREE) i wouldnt be able to tolerate switching dvds all the time. sony was smart to make the blu-ray. it cost them in the short term, but once good third and second parties (insomniac, sucker punch, naughty dog) get going. i'll be very glad the ps3 has bluray...roughly 6 times the capacity...for those who dont know that means more textures, higher graphics, deeper game engines, and DEEPER GAMES
IF each disk is 15-20 hours long or even 8 hours long, how often do you change the disk? I thought so.
1. The Sega MasterSystem- Released prior to the nes. It was sega's first console and even was more powerful then the nes. It often came with more then one game on a cartridge and had some super hits on it. It was pretty expensive at the time so sales never picked up. It even had a maze game in it when there was no game in the slot.
2. Turbo Graphix 16- Again no mention. This was a cheaper alternative to the snes/genesis. It's games were the size of playing cards (a little thicker) and had it's fair share of hits. It was overshadowed by Nintendo/Sega so it never really picked up.
3. Atari Jaguar- An atari system very similiar in comparion to the Turbo Graphix 16. Major Failure and the remotes had like 30+ buttons.
4. 3DO- The first sytem that launched with it's own interior memory. Launced in the mid 90's (96 I believe) it failed because of it's immense pricetag. $700. I picked up one at a pawn shop 2 years later for dirt cheap. It had alot of hits including the best Version of Road Rash ever.
5. Nintendo Virtual Boy- Nintendo's biggest failure ever. It stood like a tripod and you looked into it like a face mask. It only had one color (red) and it did not live up to the promise. (real 3d visuals) FLOP!
Note I did not mention handhelds like: lynx, tiger games, wonderswan etc. etc.
I see alot of new Microsoft fans because of the 360 (I turned one) and I know plenty of others who neveer owned an xbox but love the 360.
Wii has also turned me into a NIntendo fan again after a hiatus (hated the n64 and barely liked the gamecube but loved the nes and snes). Seeing the shocking sales numbers of Wii's sold so far, it does look like Nintendo has picked up a lot of fans and even non-gamers. (my girlfriend is one of them)

I could care less if Nitnendo is #1 but If they continue to innovate then I will continue to support them.
