[QUOTE="Yazu13"]The entire Story Mode is voice acted (quite masterfully at that) except for the narration and includes fullyanimated cutscenes every now and then (Otherwise it is toldwith stills). Don't comment if you don't know what you're talking about. Here's some proof just to end this nice and quick:ChiliDragon
That's your idea of masterful and flawless voice acting...? It's my idea of "take a few points off the review for terrible voice acting and even worse dialogue". :P At least you managed to prove that standards for what is considered good or bad in terms of preferences are entirely subjective. As are opinions on what is and is not a good story, and if the game is long enough, it's impossible to show the story and it's supposed merits in an 8-minute YouTube clip. If that clip is typical though, it looks like it's a lot like SoulCalibur, but just with more cut scenes and spoke dialogue. And claiming Soul Calibur has great story compared to some of the other games in this thread is a bit like comparing the story in Despicable Me to the works of Shakespeare and Tolkien.

I never said anything about Soul Calibur.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion I suppose. I'm certainly not losing my mind because everyone I've spoken to who actually played BlazBlue likes the voice acting so maybe it's something that grows on you. Also, that clip is just a very small, tiny slice of the story mode. There's a story for each of the 12 characters (Calamity Trigger. The sequel has 15 characters.) and they differ greatly. It's a real treat to see what everyone's up to as there are often multiple instances where characters cross the paths of eachother and their actions sometimes effect the others without them ever meeting. There's also some solid comedy to look forward to sometimes. Overall in fact, the entire game grows on you.

That's a start, but your video card is the most important part of the equation. With specs like that you shouldn't have any bottlenecking in the Lost Coast, but without knowing what your GPU is then it would be tough to judge whether your system is up to the task or not.

Story is told by reading textboxes with a background slideshow (with pretty lousy voice acting to boot). Exactly as I had presumed.

You're obviously just unable to concede your point. The voice acting in BlazBlue is flawless. Why do you care so much that you're wrong? Are you that stubborn? Show me a game with better voice acting.

I gotta say, that youtube video was horrible. "Hahaha, my guess has not missed it's mark. You are the daughter of Nine and the Cat." Maybe Smurfs quality dialog right there.

As much as I like bickering about this, my point is made painfully clear. You won't understand the story until you piece things together and learn what everyone's talking about. That's what makes the story of the game so enjoyable; it's mysterious and unique. As well, condensing a long sentence into a small line would make anyone seem simple. Still, Hakumen is old-fashioned and tends to talk in a way most people don't really get. :P

Obvious self-promotion is obvious.:P

Seriously though, I hate it when things don't carry over in any game. It would add so much replay value.

Take a look at my signature and avatar.

Hakumen from BlazBlue doesn't need food, water, air, or atmosphere to survive and he's dang powerful and cool. He also doesn't age.

A man can dream........

Mass Effect 2's voice actors are over 9000x better than that silly arcade fighter. They've got the fricken babe from Chuck voice acting, shouldn't even be up for discussion

I haven't played Mass Effect 2 so I'll assume it has good voice acting like you say, but you can't really compare two things that are each at the pinnacle of the same thing. Maybe your idea of good voice acting is different from mine, but at least shake off your bias and admit something that is so apparent that it is almost no longer opinion but fact. BlazBlue has great voice acting and I'm sure most people who aren't biased would agree. Just because it's a fighting game doesn't mean you can deny these facts entirely. That's like saying no game that isn't mainstream can compare with a mainstream game on any level. At least that's the vibe I get from you.

noob question but how do i look at my specs

LittleToejam

You can go to SystemRequirementsLab.com for all necessary information, or you can go to Control Panel->System Maintenace->System. Though, the former will reveal whatyour graphics card isand its specs.

I thought the story was trash.

I could of written something better in elementary school, in fact I did.

True_Sounds

If you don't like anime and can't pay attention. If you understand the universe of BlazBlue then the Story becomes exponentially better. It's very interesting and unique.

Pfft yeah and soul calibur has an interesting backstory as well. That doesn't mean the game itself presents a good story. I haven't played Blazblue but I HIGHLY doubt an arcade fighter can successfully tell a story without making you read it from textboxes.

Maybe you should play BlazBlue before you comment then. Both are good, but Dawn of War would last you a lot longer. It's a fun series and I wouldn't pass up a deal like that if I were you.
