The power usage on intels 14nm is getting out of hand though, they can't get much more performance out of these things. It looks like AMD may finally get ahead of intels IPC with their new cpus. With their latest cpus they even had to shave down the cpu dies between the heatspreaders to help get rid of that extra heat. These guys are so desperate to stick with 14nm, they'll be using liquid metal next to cool their cpus.Anyways I'm still on an old intel 4770k, just waiting it out. I'd rather get an AMD cpu for upgrade reasons since you can usually upgrade multiple cpu generations per board. If AMD's new cpus have IPC equal or greater to intels, the choice is then clear for me.
