Since the unions are going to die anyway and I'm onto the final game in the challenge, I figured I might as well type out my final ranking for the series here. A bit anti-climactic of an end for such a large undertaking, but considering the Unions won't be around much longer anyway.... I might as well post my final thoughts. Obviously some games are missing from this list, but I tried to limit it to ones that fit within the series, not mis-titled games or extreme spin-offs like the Chocobo games.
I could go into great detail on whyI believe each game deserves each spot, but generally gameplay balance was the most important thing to be considered, because these are VIDEO GAMES, and gameplay is the most important part of that. Of course there are other things to consider as well, but really this list came from thorough critiquing of each entry, and not even what games I have the fondest feelings about. (For Example, I'm sure many people will be pissed to see how loe FFVII is, I have a TON of Nostalgia for that game considering it was not only my first Final Fantasy game, but one of my first video games ever, but when it comes right down too it, it's really not as good as people say it is. Instead of ranting about the reasons for that here I will just point to my previous retrospective of the game). Anyway that's all.
Edit: Oh I lied, I kind of guessed and put FFXIII-2 on the list without having played it yet... my main basis for that thought being the game has maps... and you don't automatically lose when your main character dies... and that already makes it a far better product that FFXIII was. I could very well be wrong but you know what? who cares, I can just switch the two titles later considering they are the two lowest on the list.

Hey guys, it feels like forever since I've had an update, but now that I've checked the dates of my last few posts I've got to say I don't feel nearly as bad. I've been really busy this past 10 days with starting work at my new job, having a bunch of house work to get done and suffering through Final Fantasy XIII (which I completed about 10 minutes ago) I'd say it's been a productive 10 days for me... considering all of that and that I HAD to take breaks from FFXIII so I actually beat the first four classic Megaman games between FFXIII spurts... Honestly this game felt like it took me a freakin' eternity to complete, and the fact that I have to beat FFXIII-2 still has me cringing... thank god the game is shorter than the first one (or so I've heard.)
Now... normally I'd tell you all that I will post a review of FFXIII soon, but honestly... I don't see the point. I have NOTHING to say about this game that other people haven't said millions of times. (Actually I guess that's a lie... One thing I've noticed that no one else seems to point out is that they even f****** up the camera controls.. which you ...think would be impossible considering the fact that the game is literally a damn hallway, and yet there were STILL moments where the camera would glitch out or I would lose control of it entirely ). If you really want to know why this game is hated (or at the very least why it's a BAD GAME) check out any number of reviews forit, my two personal reccomendations being Jim Sterling's written review and The Spoony One's FFXIII Review from the Spoonyexperiment.com.
The story is awful, there is not a SINGLE likable character in the bunch (I once remembered liking Sazh.. but even he annoys the hell out of me) Surprisingly Vanille is NOT the most annoying character to me, despite the fact that she can't stick to an accent and I have NO idea why they decided to make her the damn narrator. HOPE is not only the most annoying character in this game, but one of the most annoying characters in all of fiction. I'm sorry your mom died but it obviously wasn't snow's fault. you watched it happen. Shut the F*** up, grow a pair and move on you whiny little b****. ugh... I could rant for hours about this game... maybe I will write a review after all, I don't know... right now I don't even want to think about the game anymore.... I just got about 25 new PS3 games that I'm DYING to play and can't because I'm finishing up this damn challenge, Kingdom Hearts is just looking sweeter and sweeter everyday.. and as much as I detest the FFXIII 'series', I have completed over 40 games... and I'm on the final entry now, so tI'm not backing out. Wish me luck as I move onto the final game in this challenge - Final Fantasy XIII-2 Thank you all for your support throughout this huge undertaking, the way things are looking, this very well could be my most complete and last challenge I will ever do, so thank you all for making it memorable and entertaining with all of the discussions.
