Resistance. That game has been out for over a year and has surpassed the Million mark long ago. I'm sure it will go Greatest hits this year. I'm not paying 60 bucks for that, I'll just wait a bit.
I haven't seen or heard anything like that in real life. However, I think as a franchise EB/GS do not like Sony atm, because they don't sell systems or games for the few systems that are out there. Also their system has the biggest box and display unit, taking up valuable retail shelf space.
EB/GS has no reason to like Sony. Look at the numbers, they don't lie. Many PS3 games tank. Add to that that Sony has been selling full games on the PSN (read Warhawk) which a retailer would not like.
