What's going to happen to Unions?

Unfortunately, Unions are one of the features that we have had to make the difficult decision to cut from the site.

Though we will not have Unions in the new GameSpot, we will allow existing Union communities to continue with some changes. To that end, we are going to be reaching out to Union leaders who have been active in the last year to give them the opportunity to have their Unions converted into standard forums.

It's important to note that this will mean the following for any converted Unions:

  • Union leaders and officers will not be able to moderate their Unions
  • Anyone will be able to post in the forum
  • Union blog posts will be lost, as will Union levels, emblems, and points
  • Unions will not be listed on the Community hub, and will only be discoverable by search or by direct link
  •
  • If a Union leader elects not to convert their Union(s), or neglects to make a choice by the time GameSpot relaunches, their Union(s) will be lost.

  • If you are a Union leader and would like to convert your Union(s) into standard forums and you haven't been contacted, please fill out this form.

I blame Gamespot pretty much burying the unions after their redesign a couple of years along with Gamespot unions still stuck on the same old ass website that's its been using for as long as I can remember due to CBS's inability to modernize this **** along with the rest of Gamespot.

People kept leaving but no influx of new people coming in to replace them because how the **** are they even supposed to find unions any more. Not to mention the popularity of Gamespot itself falling like a rock in a big ass ocean and regulars growing out of Gamespot or not having as much time for it as they used to I guess.

Agree. No one will be able to match the realistic style of Nolan's trilogy. I enjoyed it, but want to see the next include more of the comic book lore and style. Scott Snyder's Court of Owls/Night of the Owls story arc would be amazing if someone could pull it off.

Of the three comic book movies this summer, I thought The Amazing Spiderman was the best. It felt like the comic books in movie form. The cast was really good, and the guy that played Spiderman nailed it imo. It even had the cheesy dialogue you get from reading the comics. I went in with no expectations, but am now looking forward to seeing where they go with it.

Same here. I went into it expecting it to be just okay, and ended up really liking it. The dialogue, action scenes, Parker's character and pretty much everything else just felt so in tune with the comics.

The dude who played Spider-Man did a much better job than Toby Maguire and the writing for Spider-Man/Peter Parker felt much more like comic book Spider-Man. Gotta love the cheesy one liners and wise cracks in the new one that were sorely lacking from the original Spider-Man trilogy.
