If Project Cafe is going to be backwards compatible, that means that it has to support either motion, Wiimotes, or both. But a new controller with a large, HD built-in screen? I'm not saying that Nintendo isn't going to pull something amazing off, but I am having trouble figuring it out. I don't imagine I'm going to be swinging my HD controller around like a Wiimote, so then backwards compatible must mean utilizing the Wiimotes right? I'm also having trouble seeing how Project Cafe is going to make use of my 1080p screen in addition to the HD screens on the controller. It sounds like one of the two is going to get the raw end of the deal. If anything, leave it to rumors to cause confusion and chaos. I'm just looking forward to when Nintendo shows it off and somehow it amazingly makes sense. I do hope they can bring back some of their older gaming audience that has played Nintendo since NES.

I'm sure Nintendo will perform well, just as they have; however, I do hope they will take a few things into account. I will only buy the console once, but will buy many games for that console. The quality of the game is ultimately determined by the console; a game cannot be any greater than what the console can produce. And regardless of the performance, the price of games will remain the same. If the console has a level C performance, it will be impossible for games to go beyond the C level performance of the system (visuals, sound, and gameplay, not story). Regardless, the cost of the game new will be around $50. If, however, the system is of A level performance, then all games will have the potential of A level performance and still cost around $50. As I said, I only buy the console once, I would rather pay $50 more for the console and get a higher grade of performance which thus (potentially and likely) impacts the performance of ALL games released on the system, without upping the cost (ignore inflation). Now I'm not saying I want Nintendo to stop being innovative and work on releasing a $500 graphics powerhouse; that is not what I mean. Nintendo doesn't invent the graphics chip or the output, we leave that up to, say, IBM and ATI (Wii CPU and GPU reference, respectively). But I would like HD output and better capabilities which will affect all games released thereafter. And as always, more improved Nintendo innovation.

Maybe DA3 will become Gauntlet-like in gameplay! /sarcasm I'm not sure what it was about the Gauntlet series, but I definitely could make some rounds!

If you want graphics, upgrade your PC. If you want something portable with title-specific games, get a console. Simple enough =)

AMD bought ATI and so far that hasn't seemed to be a good idea. in the future they might be able to make a cpu and gpu together which would be great for them. but so far they have yet to catch with Intel, price wise and quality wise, unless Intel doesn't drop the price. although Intel may beat them to the cpu and gpu if AMD gets a lead on it. Problem is if AMD dies, it's not good for Intel prices because w/o competition, and only one mainstream company, means the customer may not see the prices drop anymore. competition is good for the market and buyers, but not when one competitor keeps getting slammed.
