Mr. Yee, I will direct this toward you as a human being who has a tough time swallowing what you say. You see, Mr. Yee, you don't understand us. Calling us people who "lust for violence" and even saying "the industry's lust for money". Do you know anything about the industry or the community? I don't think you do.
Also, why are you only holding three "M" rated games? Are they the only ones you can find? Or the ones you see people playing most? Or are they the ones you just saw in a store and decided to just randomly pick up in your fit of "I want to tell people what to do."
It's funny how people, such as yourself, -think- you know your audience. You assume we are all neanderthals with controllers whacking each other while grunting because we are oh so violent. No, we are not that. We are intelligent and highly influential. It's not our money that makes games, but our passion and voices.
And sir, by your statements or rather insults, have incited a grand uprising in our community. Though we should thank you, for bringing us together to show the world that gamers are more than what people think or say we are. By the way, your ignorance and blatant disregard for people's feelings pretty much just sums up what we think of politicians. Money grubbing, warmongers, who just want the populous to shut up and listen to whatever filth spews from your lips. And to that, I say good day, hope you're prepared to defend what you say when the community grows in strength.
This proves once again, humanity can't face it's own fears. Merely it looks for scapegoats to mask what the -real- problem is. It's the parents, it's people failing to get help for their mentality, it's all sorts of things. But to blame something that's just pixels and fake people running around, oh yeah that's the way to go.
Seriously, the more we shy away from what really causes these tragedies the more these will happen. Also, people can die from other things besides guns! -le gasp-
I'm surprised Carolyn didn't talk about "Dinner Date", it's a simple game where there player a guy being stood up in hopes of meeting a date. (Aplologies for the utter spoiler) It's quite interesting for it's experience as you hear the character's inner thoughts. Though it's not about financial problems, it is really about something everyone will or has faced in life. This is interesting to see games emulate life in a sense of realism. Games are a medium that can change people. For better or worse. They can even help us to figure out stuff about ourselves and others we didn't even know.
It's nice to see games take a different approach at tugging at heartstrings once in awhile and not just satisfying feelings of self-accomplishment, bloodlust, etc. These are unique games and do their best to show us a more "human" and "natural" side of gaming.
Don't know why but the Warframes vaguely make me think of the Guyver units. Anyway, the game looks pretty cool, kinda iffy about the whole micro transaction thing. Seems fun enough, got me interested.
