Yeah I have played the game, I havent beat it yet but thats because I find it extremely boring. Its exactly like Mario Galaxy 1 and I had to force myself to finish the game. I got it at the same time I got Halo 3 and Gears of War and I had to force myself to stop playing those games just because I felt bad that my parents bought me SMG for Christmas and I hadnt even played it. My tastes in games have just changed since I was a little kid. Games like Zelda and Mario are just not fun to me anymore. I would much rather play deeper games like The elder scrolls, GTA, and Halo.

Ok but you seem to be the only person in that boat. How can you question itsquality when the majority of reviewers (who are older then you) and people here enjoy it? He thinks it's boring and not "deep" enough for his tastes. How can he question its quality? He's not, just saying he doesn't like it. A better question is, why do you think everyone needs to like a game because reviewers do?
The legacy of the franchise probably adds to the enjoyment some people have in Mario titles and definitely affects consumer behaviors, but it can't make a game. SMG2 got the praise it did because it's SMG2, not Mario.

...That's exactly the same as calling it overrated? On System Wars that is what they mean 99% of the time. If you think an item that's generally lauded is not very good, why can't you call it overrated without getting flak?

How is it overrated? I hear people say that all the time. People say that for every game. What they meant is: "the game is not that good, IMO" ...That's exactly the same as calling it overrated?
