Hello, Home Skilletz!
Yes, yes, I know! It's been almost a month again since my last blog. I don't know why... this laziness is really getting the better of me. :P But I've also got a decent excuse for not being active! Well... maybe. :P
1. I've been doing some serious gaming, mostly in Uncharted 2, and Dragon Age: Origins.
2. I've started writing again! :D As well as getting back into art. Drawing mostly.
3. I've been sleeping... alot. xD
So you see? This time around, I have three excuses! And there all very good ones, if you ask me!
Say, you want to know something that really annoys me? Whats that? You don't? Well, thats too bad, because I'm going to tell you anyway. So last Saturday I went out with my parents, just out around town. We went to one of our favorite places to shop, Sullivans. I suppose you could call it a thrift shop, though it's mostly all antiques. It's a family business, and the lady that runs it is actually quite nice. Her son is sometimes there helping out, and we talk sometimes. He has very good taste in books and video games, it must be said. 8) The place is actually really cool, I enjoy going there alot. Anyhow, once we got up to the front desk to pay for our findings, there was a girl there. I suppose she was the owner's daughter, but she didn't even look 12 years old! So she started to ring everything up, and she picks up of my things. It was an old glass bird, I remember my Mom having a set of them when I was very young. I don't know why I bought it... it just brought back old memories I suppose... Anyhow, so she looks at me, then turns to my Mom and says "So does you're daughter collect these types of things?" They look... kind of cool." My Mom looked at me, then answered the girl. Of course I don't collect weird bird statue things! This one just reminded me of my childhood. So then, she decides to completely ingnor me, and ask my Mom all of these stupid questions about what I collect, what I like to do, etc. I was somewhat offended, which may sound stupid. And it makes me feel incredibly stupid, to have a 10 year old make me feel that way. -_- Sullivans, is no longer one of my favorite places to hang out.
Then, later that week, one of my Dad's friends from church calls him while we were waiting for some friends to arrive,so go we could go out to eat together. For some weird reason I don't know, they were talking about me. Saying how shy I was, and that needed to spend more time with people my own age. Mind you, I was in the room this whole time.
Again that week, the same thing kept happening! So if you haven't figured it out yet, the point to this little rant is that when people talk about me like I'm not in the room, when infact I am, really ticks me off. -_- If you got something to say about me, say it to my face, not behind my back.
Bah. Enough about that.
So in my last blog I also said that some of my family and I were going to the St. Louis Science Center. Well, the day we were suppose to go, my sister got really sick and coulden't even get out of bed. She's feeling much better now, but she still is having some of the effects of the illness she had. Mom keeps telling her to go to the doctor and get it checked out, but she's too stubborn. Like Mother like daughter, right?
So anyhow, were are suppose to make it there this weekend. Hopefully I won't forget my camera, and I can get some sweet pictures!
Back to the gaming world!
Dragon Age II came out yesterday! :D I went out picked it up around 11:00 am, and have been playing it ever since. Well, with a few breaks in between then and now. Since I pre-ordered, I got some really cool armour, and a lion shield thing. :P Though I can't use it at the moment, becuase I haven'tbeen focusing my upgrades on Dexterity, and Strength. -_- The game is really cool, the story is turning out very well. Though there are quite a few things I liked better in Dragon Age: Origins... the conversations, for instance. You can no longer talk to you're party members at any time, but only after you have completed one of the main story quests. That, was one of my favorite aspects of DA:O! I though it was very cool that I was able to stop and tease Morrigan, or share a kiss with Alistair, during a critical mission! -_- And, the party members aren't nearly as entertaining. The funniest thing I've heard while walking the streets of Kirkwall, was Varric and Isabella's disturbing conversation about chest hair, which wasn't, in my own humble opinion, at all funny.
*Has a flashback*
Wynne: "Alistair, what is this?"
Alistair: "That? That is a sock."
Wynne: "Yes, it's a filthy sock! How did it find it's way into my bedroll?"
Alistair: "Maybe it likes you? Socks are sneaky like that! Anyway, it's not mine."
Wynne: "It has you're name stitched on it."
Alistair: "Oh! Haha... part of Templar training back at the Chantry. The men were always... getting their socks mixed up. Anyway, uh, sorry about that! I'll take it from you right now. One of my socks is feeling a bit damp anyway, a change would be nice."
Wynne: "You're gong to put it on?! It's filthy!"
Alistair: "And dry! We're not exactly traveling in the lap of luxury here."
Wynne: "What hideous habbits you've picked up."
Ahh... good times! :D
Back to Dragon Age II. So yes, the game does have some negitive aspects, but it also has some very good ones! One of them being Hawke of course. 8) And no, not in the way you're thinking. I love that you're character actually has a voice now. Though it also means you don't always get to choose everything Hawke says. The combat system has also changed for the better, I think. It's freakin' awesome! I'm playing as a Mage at the moment, and the fighting is epic! Though I will admit... I sometimes get distracted by Hawke's incredibly attractive arms, and must hurry up and heal myself before I get knocked out. :| :P Especially when he does his special moves with the Mage's staff. Oh be still my beating heart...
Bah! Get ahold of yourself VGN! :x Okay what was I saying? Oh, yes!
The combat of Dragon Age II. So epic! When I played through the demo as a Warrior, the combat wasen't that much different from when you play as a Mage, there were some very awesome combat moves. I didn't get a chance to see what the combat was like as a Rogue, but my brother-in-law is playing through the game as a Rogue, and he says it's also very epic. 8)
One more thing I miss in the first Dragon Age, was the approval system. Each time you made a desicion, be it either small or huge, you're party member's approval of you would either become higher, or lower. No the case is, whenever youmake a desicion, their 'friendship' or 'rivalry' goes up. And, I can't for the life of me, figure out how to givemy party members gifts! :x
The characters are also cool I suppose. Not as awesome as the characters from DA:O *coughAlistaircough*. I miss Alistair and Morrigan's constant bickering. I miss Wynne teasing Alistair. I miss Zevran. :( But, we can't have everything we want. So I'm making due. I will say Varric, Isabella, and Fenris are my favorite party members so far. I doubt you can get anymore people to join you're party, I've already got 8 at the moment. :P Since I'm playing as the male Hawke, I'm thinking Isabella would be a great choice for Hawke's romance. She reminds me of Slyfur, in a way. xD
I'm just about 15 hours into the game, and I'm currently halfway through The Deep Roads expedition. I just hit level 10 this morning, and I've been doing tons of the side quests. 8)
Oh my... this blog has become very long. :| Time to wrap this up!
-I'm nearly done writing "One Last Night", my fanfic of Dragon Age: Origins! I know I said I would have it up by Sunday night, but I was busy playing Uncharted 2 with Marko, and didn't finish it! :P
-I drew a picture of Hawke! Well... the best I could anyway. His hair and eyes aren't quite right. I would have done a lot better if I had a picture of him to look at while I was drawing it. If you wish to see it, I will post it here on GS, and on DevArt. Mind you, it's only my fourth attempt at drawing a person.
-I've been unlocking trophies in Dragon Age II like crazy! I used to be able to play Dragon Age: Origins for hours and not get anything out of it! Hurrah for Dragon Age II's easy trophies! :D
-I seen Alpha and Omega. It was very boring!
-I'm getting pink highlights!
-I'll have reviews for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Assassin's Creed II, and Dragon Age: Origins up soon!
-I have over 200 hundred trophies! 8)
-I didn't know Anders was gay
There! I didn't mention Hugh Jackman once in this blog! >_>
Thank you for reading, and God bless!
Yours In Eternity,
