To tell you the truth you guys, I think the Raiders got a steal in Aaron Brooks. He's not that bad of a QB. Sure, he didn't have a great career in New Orleans but at least he's mobile and a great receiving core to catch his passes. I think he'll do much better than Kerry Collins.
Really, a trade up for Leinart or Young? It's wishful thinking but I don't think it was going to happen. The Raiders just don't have the money or the personel to do something like that.
I think we will see a great improvement for the Raiders next year with Brooks at QB.

Aaron Brooks is Kerry Collins with legs....and that might end up being a good thing. He also has far less tunnel vision than Kerry. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But, apparently, the Raiders are planning to use Brooks as an opprotunity to groom Andrew Walter a third-round choice out of Arizona State who played well at the college level but was considered to be a draft risk considering a shoulder injury.
As with the trade up for Leinart or Young...it was, and still is, looking quite possible. Saints got Brees...will probably trade their pick or at least pass on Leinart/Young. Titans may stand pat with McNair or draft Leinart. Jets are in a good situation with the QBs at their disposal..and the rest of the teams up until the Raiders are fine with their QBs. The Raiders could easily pull off Young or Leinart at #7...but if either of them go, I still see them trading to get A.J. Hawk, another solid defensive player, or maybe Jay Cutler...

I can't believe I didn't realize that! How Roy and TO get along will be interesting, to say the least.
And the time when TO was on the 49ers and when to the middle of cowboy stadium and roy williams hit him

That's the time we were reffering to.......
You're both wrong! George Teague hit Owens on the star in TEXAS Stadium and espurs and I were referring to Williams' horse-collar tackle on TO that put him out towards the end of his first season with Philly.
I thought it was Teague that hit him in the star.
Teague was the one that hit him in the star.
They are talking about when Roy Williams horse-tackled Terrell Owens which injured him late in the season when Philly went to the playoffs. Owens was hurt for the playoffs and then came back to play in the Super Bowl.
Thus we have the no horse-collar tackling now.
Bring it back!!!!!!!
I still miss the kind of hits they had back in the day...where guys wore real spiked shoulder pads and Terry Bradshaw could be pile-drived by a Cleveland Brown without incident...
Ahh, the good old days....*sigh*
[QUOTE="VanHalun040604"][QUOTE="snizzlez"]DA BROWNS!!!geaux321
Sorry...but the Browns aren't cool enough to have a "Da" before their name. Only the (Da) Bears and the (Daaaa) Raiders.
I thought it was Da Radaisssssssssss.
People go both ways.....sometimes the media will say it the way I wrote it....Al Davis, however, goes with the latter.
When you think of free agency, the Colts are never a team that stands out. While Vinatieri and Simon are certainly two big names, it's hard difficult Indy to do much more than that each year.wallymartin
Usually...teams on top tend to be pretty active in free agency...the Colts' missing pieces do certainly NOT include Adam Vinateiri.....the loss of James signals the beginning of the end for the Colts. Teams on the bottom usually look to the draft more...signing a lot of free agents either means you have a lot of money or you're putting together a patchwork team...
I think it's safe to say that Aaron Brooks will be about as effective as Kerry Collins...at least he has mobility and a great wide reciever corps, though. Anyway, I guess that can rule out the possibility of the Raiders trading to get Vince Young or Matt Leinart...
Geaux...I'm sure you'd agree.

The Cowboys made a HUUUUGE signing today....................................................Jason Fabini!
Oh, and some guy named Terrell Owens.
Seriously though, Fabini is a great addition to the o-line.
wallymartin
The Cowboys could build a Jersey wall in the front of Drew Bledsoe and he still wouldn't win games....Perhaps it's a good move, but not when your QB is Drew Bledsoe.
[QUOTE="wallymartin"]This will be THE test for T.O. If he can't be nice for Parcells, then no other team will take a chance on him for more than a year at a time. geaux321
Parcells is the guy to tame TO.
The words "tame" and "T.O." don't fit in the same sentence and should, more often than not, warrant tons of this from knowledgeable football fans:
