Sometimes I use a BOSS BD-2 to sound like old Green Day! :P

I'll try it. I have compared the x42 to the x41 and I prefer the x41. I don't play single player much these days so I always need a mic and volume controls.

Hah! I just threw out my PC Gamer mag announcing the first one as a revolution in gaming. It was to an extent. Games up to that point didn't have maps that big. Sniper rifles weren't very common in games because there weren't environments to support them. First Person shooters took place in space stations and military bases. Closed in environments. It was a completely different experience. Hiding in trees and commanding 2 squads. It was not a run and gun game. Think ARMA, and DayZ. Slow paced tactical. Ghost Recon 2's big thing was a gun with a camera so you could shoot people around corners. It still wasn't a run and gun game because you couldn't take any damage. It did lose a lot of the tactical play. GRAW Was one of the first games with the overdone cover system. It was kind of awkward to use though. Since then they've all been going for the futuristic angle. "Good" is a relative term. If you like moving fast and respawning instantly the newer ones are for you. If you like stealth and tactical gameplay grab the first one. It was a blast at lan parties. The original was a fantastic game for it's time.

Big fan of the AT m50s. I have two. A sweet pair of limited edition red ones on the way too. I use them for recording music. I've had samsons, koss, sonys and fostex. The sound and comfort for the price is great!

I have 3 pairs. I use them to record music. They are great sounding headphones for the price. Bite the bullet and get some Turtle Beaches though. They are designed for gaming and are the same price.

I recommend playing some old ones to see where the tradition came from. Doom is fairly easy to find. Bungie's Marathon series is fun and free. Team fortress 2 is great but I found it a little repetitive after a while. Planetside 2 is my favorite new one. It's like Halo + Battlefield with hundreds of targets to snipe. Large guilds organize great fights and fun events like this giant race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBphcHekNdQ&list=UU81TMcu4uiNvfjQTC1vUCNQ

To be honest after I unlocked everything I rarely play anything but assault. I only switch to engi/support if there are vehicles, Support when we get a spawn camp going, and snipe for the beacon so we can break out of a spawn camp. It doesn't take long to unlock everything you need. If you get the DLC try this trick. It's fun. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHQNscCDLzE&list=UU81TMcu4uiNvfjQTC1vUCNQ&index=6
