Crushed blacks on the 360, and limited RGB on PS3. The outputs for either machine aren't even set up properly, and some of the noted differences aren't even technically accurate. For example, the type of AA in both versions of COD4 are the same. That said, the R6 and Madden writeup is accurate, but that's about it. These comparison do a great job to get fanboys of each side riled up for different reasons, but they serve nothing more than mere fillers on the site. Besides, anyone buying a console nowadays for multiplatform games or graphics are wasting their money since the games are on PC, where they perform best.

The entire article is designed to start flame-wars and increase their hit count for month. Yes, and your point being? :p Look at the comment count for this article, or any Sony related article that has bad news. By posting this comment (and you doing it yourself and have another person reply to every part of it), we're doing exactly what's intended. This article, or the countless opinions or "analysis" of posters, won't change the fact that the system had a slow start but will pick up. The intro says it well for the most part. The PS3 is far from out. Fanboys of other systems and Sony haters would like to think otherwise naturally. Like any fanboy mentality, I suppose it'll make them enjoy their systems better.

IF they've actually turned it around for the PS3 Outside of the prototype hardware at the TGS 06, consumer PS3 hardware has been very reliable without any complaints reported so far from actual owners. Of course you're quick to jump on the bandwagon of skepticism since it's popular these days. I have a Japanese launch PS2 myself which had major heat sink issues (the unit got hot enough to melt the white lithium greese in the drive). The PS3 hasn't had any issues after similar hours of play, add more hours of BD movies (I had a standalone DVD player in 2000 so I never used the PS2's own player). The standard warranty is a full year, so they've done well on that part. Mr Park is a bit dillusional if he thinks that any electronics manufacturer is going to offer a full lifetime warranty for free on any component. If Sony got anything right with the console, it's the quality of the hardware. The titles so far are few, it's no secret, but so was the 360 a year ago. Alas, there wasn't another next gen console to compare last year so the comparison doesn't work that well. For now, I'm quite content with T5 DR and VF5, with the former getting most of my time, and it was merely $20. I'm not quite a mainstream gamer, and even my PS2 and 360 library are limited, so waiting isn't much of an issue for me. Nor was Sony quite as arrogant as this time around. Nor did they have as many delays, as exorbitant a price, or as lackluster a lineup. Delays and price aside, the other two stand. Kutaragi's "Matrix" never materialized, and the direct comparisons made to the DC on a theoretical level wasn't kind or fair (and no, not suggesting that they killed the DC). They were quite arrogant. The lineup is exactly the same too; took a good while after the initial launch (in Japan) for games to roll. All I had were TTT and RR5 until Onimusha came out in Jan 01 (nearly a year). Too similar of a situation here, and the market has changed quite a bit. PS Home is a step in the right direction, and frankly, a price cut would help a lot. It's not like the console isn't selling (slightly better than the 360 at the same time frame of its life cycle), it's just not selling as well as retailers hoped.

"The 360 and Wii both have more big titles availiable or lined up than the PS3." Combined, yes, but individually? surely you jest. All three have a healthy number of games slated for release (multiplatform and exclusive). I'd put the 360 and the PS3 on the same level as far as overall appeal to the average gamer. Both have their share of key multiplatform titles (sports etc.), and have key exclusives that appeal to certain gamers. You won't convince a Tekken or MGS fan that the 360 is a much better choice for example, nor would you be able to convince a Halo or DOA fan that the PS3 is it. "more space than any game is likely to use in this cycle" The 360 has been out only 6 months now, and as games get more complex, you're going to see 2 disc games. GTA4 would be one of them for sure. Pricing aside, it's rather absurd to debate the clear benefits of having 25 GB single sided BD's to developers. More space can't hurt, especially with audio. MS has been open about the reason behind omitting a next gen optical format drive for the 360 as a standard: The cost, which would've put the console at a similar price as the PS3. Xbox enthusiasts however, seem to be in denial for some odd reason.

Expect the pricing to change before November, if not, then you should very well expect another ban on PS3 importing (as was the case with the PSP). The console is region free after all. A BD trojan horse it is, and it'll sell for that alone to the wrong crowd. The UK market trends have always been strictly "western" and of mostly multiplatform titles. In other words, at the current projected discrepency between the PS3 and 360 pricing, expect the latter to be the dominant console there. GTA4 is multiplatform too, so that should give you a good picture.
