I sent in a support request last night around 11. Still waiting for a reply. Could be that it is Sunday that I may not get a response until Monday.

Until then, all I can do is stare at the "Download starting..." and wait I guess.

Yeah, I've gone through their forums, so far all of the answers are things I have tried. I just deleted the game, reinstalled, it stopped at about 50% and said, "Download starting..." Oddly enough, double click on it would let it download for about 15 minutes, then it would say, "Game unavailable at this time, please try again later" and I'd double click on it again and it'd get another 15 minutes. I then hit a road block at 93% where it wouldnt download anymore until I hit pause download and resumed it. Now I'm at 96% without double clicking it. Soooo... hopefully it keeps going.

Kind of ridiculous that I have to go through all this just to play a game I paid my hard earned money for. Never had this problem with steam before...

Will let you know if it ends up working by the end.

**UPDATE**

Hit 99%, the download rate ticked down, and it flipped back to "Download starting..." Now, instead of saying, "Update 99%" and flipping back and forth between that and "Download starting..." it says, "Download 99%" and goes back and forth. Really starting to piss me off. The game played completely fine a week ago, now it's a useless chunk of data on my hard drive and $40 in the toilet.

Hey all. Read about this glitch around on forums and such, now it affects me. I bought Left 4 Dead a while back and it runs great, except the newest patch seems to have "broken" it. I loaded up Steam, it had updates for both Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. Both started downloading and I had to shut down my PC for some reason or another. Next time I loaded it up TF2 downloaded its update and plays fine, however, Left 4 Dead now says "Download starting..." and alternates between that and "Updating 99%". Unplayable since when I try to open it it says, "This steam game is unavailable at this time. Please try again later"

I read the solutions for this problem and so far they have not worked. I attempted the "Verify game data cache" fix, did not work. I tried pausing and resuming, no dice. Looked at my regional language code for non-unified whatever and it is English. I'd rather not have to delete and redownload the game, but I guess that's my next step unless someone has a better idea? Anyone else that has been able to fix this problem using some other sort of voodoo magic? Thanks.

[QUOTE="Alkpaz"]

Knocking on a 11yr old who can use sentences and make discussions (referring to previous topics)? Are you people just wacked?! I can tell you there are some 30yr olds who can't spell. Does age REALLY matter? I can be arrogant and say all you teenie-boppers don't know crap compared to people in their 20s+.

But, what do I know right? I'm just a 30yr old who pays bills and buys his own materialistic items.

im not knocking him, "sir" (ill call you sir since youre 30...which makes you far superior). im simply stating many people in that age group are very immature when it comes to games, and can be very annoying to play with. (which the kid agreed with).

I'm going to have to say I've met more asshats that are 18-25 on CS than any in the 11 year old catagory.  Hell,  anywhere you go on the internet anymore it seems that way.

I have all SD TV's in my house but I badly wanted HD so... I went out and paid $30 for the 360 --> Monitor cable and plugged it into my 19" widescreen LCD monitor.  Works wonders with the speaker system I've got hooked into it and I get full HD from it.  For me it was the low cost HD option and works out great.

The official website has it posted for $40, but I paid $30 at my local Gamestop.  You can find decent deals around or on Ebay like someone else said.

None of you have come up with a good answer, only personnel opinions, worst games ever are under the 2.0 score on gamespot, so check them out.mimic-Denmark
As I see it, the thread is about the worst game you've ever played, not the worst game Gamespot has ever played.

Daikatana, Chex Quest (spork you to death), and Yoda's Desktop Adventures all were pretty miserable to me.

Some would say Trespasser: Jurassic Park, but I had a strange fascination with that game.
