I haven't played SPM yet, but I from what I've seen, it has some good features. It's just having classic Mario fighting mixed with a partner system. I've been working on a fan idea for Paper Mario. My idea focuses along the same play as PM and PM:TYD. The game is called Paper Mario: Soul Blade. Right now it's a little difficult to create a pretty good plot that has very few if no holes at all, but the story right now is basically about an evil being from a parallel universe known as the Somber Lord wants to destroy Mario's universe. If you'd like me to go further, I'd be happy to put up the story once I can get some of the finer details finished.
