Rocket Knight Adventures

Pushed the Sega Genesis in every way possible to make a truly state of the art 4th generation experience. Cheery animation, great effects, memorable sound, and stage variety with events make this a genuine achievement. Also, the late-game was brutal with limited lives, but I managed to finish it as a kid.

Zero Tolerance

My first 3D FPS as a kid. I was blown away by the experience. The sci fi theme helps it feel modern even though the graphics are on the Genesis. The map helps you locate enemies that look like a few wiggly pixels in the distance, and aim assistance helps you finish the job. A very competent 16 bit 3D FPS (look to the GBA for disastrous examples). A huge game with password saving. I believe I completed 50 levels and still didn't finish the game.. but don't let any of your characters die...... it has permadeath, and are needed to complete the game.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Who, in the 90s, didn't love Star Trek TNG? The game gives great fan service with a ship to fly, space battles, a very thorough encyclopedia for a Gen cart, and character likenesses on the bridge. Sadly, the gameplay in the later stages is a maze nightmare...... won't they have map scanners in the future ?????

Beavis and Butt-head (1994)

Quite simply, the finest game ever crafted. Just kidding..... Filled with typical immature B&B humor and fan service, it was an oddly intellectual experience on the Genesis. It was part adventure and part action... requiring careful sleuthing to find the weapons, solve whacky puzzles, and make it to the GWAR concert !!!!
