Well I suppose I had a bad choice of words when I said that. It would make it more glorious, but I meant that him being able to avoid it also means that it was pointless of him to do. I have no idea why Jesus had to die to save mankind from sin, except for the sake of heavy symbolism.

Well yeah, your life to save another's is very noble I suppose but you just have to think what else could have happened? Or rather what else could have been written?

Yep, he could've converted everyone in the world with the snap of his fingers... But I guess God doesn't love us enough to give us the easy way out to heaven, he wants to give his own creations the possibility of going to hell... Even though he loves us with his whole being ;)

Hey now I don't want this getting locked :P But on a related note, when it comes to religion and life in general I feel if you don't care about yourself then don't expect anyone else to. Too many people expect others or God or something besides themselves to take care of them. Love yourself in order to be loved.

I've actually often thought about this idea. People throughout history have viciously attacked the Jews as the "ones who killed Jesus", but I do ask: why? If Jesus hadn't been crucified, then his entire time on Earth (according to Christian doctrine) would have had its purpose unfulfilled. The ones who crucified him were the ones who fulfilled the prophecy and allowed him to become the savior of humanity, not the ones he just talked to for a brief period of time.

I dont think Jesus have to die to prove the point. He was sent by God to tell people to worship God and stop blasphemy. I quite cant see the point of him dying for others.

Well you can look at the role of Buddha versus the role of Jesus (I'm not really supposed to do this). Siddhartha (Buddha) saw the suffering of the world and eventually became the Buddha and now we have some sort of guidance due to his teachings. Now look at Christ, he too saw the suffering of the world and attributed it to sin (in Buddhism there isn't really sin, just don't do anything to harm yourself or others really) and so he allowed himself to be tortured to death pretty much. It's just interesting since one found a way to liberate people from suffering through living and teaching whilst the other, even though he had teachings and some influence on the local populace, felt the need to die to make a point. But it all fits in with Judea-Christian theology, which I feel is largely centered around violence and wrath for some odd reason.

This is a very cool concept, and one that Christians will have to double look at before fumbling around for an answer. I never got why Jesus's sacrifice on the cross was so "glorious" when he knew it was going to happen the whole time, and could've avoided the whole thing altogether.

I would think that this would make it more glorious. He could have easily avoided it, but chose not to.

[QUOTE="SuprmanLuvHandl"]Wasn't there a book they found called The Gospel of Judas where it said Jesus told him to do it? Or was that all BS?cd_rom
No. There was a Gospel of Judas found where it says that. There's also a Gospel of Mary Magdelene and many other books that didn't make it into the final Bible.

Yeah, some of them would fit perfectly into the bible too, it's odd. It all had to do with the Council of Nicaea I believe, I know the humanity v. the divinity of Jesus was debated there but I don't know if they chose which gospels to put in the book there.

[QUOTE="Toriko42"][QUOTE="SuprmanLuvHandl"][QUOTE="Toriko42"]Don't bother with Inception It's not that great...Despicable Me or Toy Story 3 is more enjoyable

He could watch all 3 also, Inception was amazing.

Not really, Inception was too ambitious and it sacrificed telling a good story with it. I also felt like the characters outside of Cobb were...Underused.

The story was just told poorly. We're supposed to believe this cold, calculated extractor has all this baggage, someone like him would have regret but Cobb is like borderline sociopath and the way it was all executed was just poor. Once in the main dream sequence it was great but everything before that was almost B movie-ish.

There is the growing belief that Judas and Jesus worked together in the "betrayal". I even think that Judas mentions that Jesus asked him to do it in the Book of Judas.

I forget which modern philosopher brings it up :( but it popped into my head just now.

There is no complicated answer to this and actually the argument can be applied to any figure in Jesus's life.

Jesus knew the entire time Judas would betray him yet Jesus did nothing to stop him. So by allowing Judas to betray him, Judas triggered a chain of events that would eventually lead to Jesus dying for the sins of man.

From what I've seen and read Gore did technically win both votes but because of the controversy in Florida he ended up bowing out, probably thinking he would just be the better man. Instead we have 2 wars, we killed ethanol and the hydrogen fuel cell, nuclear power is demonized, and almost every system in our nation is broken.

Well what sets Fox News apart is they won't report on certain things. Usually if there is a gay pride parade or rally or what have you they totally ignore it while every other station has some form of input on it. I like MSNBC personally but mass media in general is evil, you should watch it like a soap opera or switch it up so you don't become totally brainwashed.

I wish we could nix political handles being used as insults. There is a campaign ad running in my area now and it literally says "...that's really liberal..." like it's a damned crime to be conservative or liberal. Why don't we just go back McCarthyism zomg the reds er rather the blues this time.

My supreme ugliness :(

ShadowJax04

Dude... really... don't show yourself.... and cut your hair... O_O

Only thing i agree with is that your hair looks a little ruined?

 I was only joking about my ugliness, I'm adorable. But yeah my hair is fried, I'm in an awkward period where I don't want to dye it again because it's been died black, bleached 2 times, had black patches in the with bleach, then it was orangish, now it's like whatever the hell color it is and totally fried. I'm debating whether or not to go back to black with some red streaks or just saying **** it all and bleaching it again. I can't cut it much because the back of my head is going to be all dreads soon, the front is going to stay the same, just razored shorter and it won't be flared out at the sides.
