PS2 - the console that just doesn't want to die.

A few companies like Valve would have liked some of their content to be free but Microsoft soon steps in and sees some financial potential, so something has to be charged to the consumer. It doesn't help with them soon raising the price of Xbox LIVE Gold either. Then I remember the developer of Braid wanted to release the premium theme for free but again, Microsoft stepped in.
