It was originally scheduled for March.

It was then delayed until at least April-May or later. No new date is yet announced.

I do this sometimes - but I buy through Ebay so that the key is guaranteed to be legit (and can dispute if it's a scam)

You say that as if PC games were the only ones getting leaked. I still remember people playing Halo 2 months before release. And that same thing happens with basically every major release.

Yes, but the only reason Crytek made Crysis 2 multiplat in the first place was because of Piracy on the PC. Now, 6 weeks before Crysis 2 is released for the PC, it has been leaked.

If the 360 version was also leaked then things would be different.

As per the optimization, there is a thread in SW where a bunch of youtube vids of the game being played are posted, it looks as if the optimization is excellent, although it cant be played on max, and only in DX 9.

The leak says nothing about PC gaming as a platform. Rather it says that Crytek/EA's internal security is crap since the only way this leak could have occurred is if an employee sneaked a copy out of the building.

Its not even a "copy" its just a build. The reason a console version won't leak this early is because the code isn't compiled until the last few weeks... before then, everything runs on PC machines.

And even tho this happened, when the RETAIL version hits - no doubt the consoles will leak before PC.

There are rumours that a LAN-capable version/mod is out there somewhere...

Though the game will support dedicated servers, AFAIK they can't be player hosted (only third party providers with EA agreement)

The full version of crysis 2 (though a beta build from developers) has been leaked to torrents....

This is terribly bad for Crytek and EA....

screens and videos of the running game starting to appear on the net

It's Crytek we're talking about here, they were obsessed with pushing every platform to it's limits. It's a pretty huge difference, just talk to the people who played the two different versions at gaming expos.

The only platform at this point who has any way forward is PC. Devs can say all they want, but PS3/360 pretty much hit their tech limit with how graphics can go, without having framerate problems.
