Too much cut scenes, button prompts, and linear play. Not to mention limiting movement and mechanics like grappling hooks only in certain spots, kind of thing. No thanks.

@vackillers There is evidence that it was meant for Xbox 360, but was refused by Microsoft. Which does not make it bad by itself (ports could be good). But in this case, porting it did not help it (mini games that make no sense, UI that does not work well, dx9, etc).
They also did not listen to their fans. Or even beta test it (I feel it is in alpha right now, aka after release). We are the alpha testers. Too bad we paid full price for it. This is the first and last time I ever preorder a game, lol.
@normanislost It is how they did the one ship that bothered me. Give us a ship you can truly upgrade, if stuck with just one. Not just from laser 1 to laser 1.1.
You cannot change the look of the ship. You cannot directly trade with the ship (other than small stuff you find in boxes, really, boxes just floating around invisible in space that you have to play a mini game to find and shoot with your lasers, really?). You cannot change the fighting style of the ship. You cannot look around the cockpit. You cannot change the role of the ship. The list goes on and on.
Just another example of them not implementing things well.
@PETERAKO @sorintitus Wrong. I have the game. Have played a little after every patch. They release a patch a week. They have a long list of bugs that still need to be fixed. They are not done yet fixing the bugs. When they stop releasing a patch every week (which I applaud them for, at least they are trying), then you know the bug part is done.
But that just starts the part where they start fixing the bad design part (part one bugs, part two design flaws). Mods also need more time. You can only do so much with mods when the game keeps getting bug fixes. Not to mention they will release more modding tools down the road.
This game needs many more months before it is done with bugs and has all things promised working as intended. And mods to fix many of its base problems. If you don't believe me, check the forums (both on Steam and Egosoft).
The only thing going for it, is that it came out on PC and is very moddable. It might be an ok game in a year after the mods. That is one benefit of gaming on PC. Such a shame it is bad (and yes, bad is an understatement). In SC we trust!
