A while back I made a prediction that, in time, Call of Duty would become some sort of Halo game as they keep moving the time period of the games into the future. Well, here's just one more step in the direction of my prediction.

You know, even if this does not go perfectly well, newer technologies have to start some where. I'll be curious to see how they'll price this and might bite even if it's a little higher than I might want. I want to support innovation as I can though, naturally, the majority of us can't pay the big bucks for the best and newest.

@DeusGladiorum

Seriously, if you think the Wii U is doing something highly innovative with their peripherals then you've definitely bought into the "hype" around this device.

1. Wii remote = who cares
2. Wii U Pro = traditional controller
3. Wii U Gamepad = crappy tablet with controls OR a crappy handheld device depending on your view

Some of the game pad to TV interconnectivity could totally be done on a regular tablet with an app along with the Xbox or PS4. The thing is, no one cares as the functionality is not really viewed as truly enhancing game play. Nice attempts but it obviously hasn't convinced many people at this point.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Yeah, the bipartisan political process of America is really going well isn't it? If given the opportunity, I doubt Congress could even decide how to properly sharpen a pencil without erupting into a battle of logical fallacies. What a terrible example.

Actually, it's not just about graphics. It has to do with the fact that I can play nearly 90% of the same games but at much higher fidelity AND use my device for many other purposes at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I'm also a console owner but my PC runs circles around the console. My PC didn't cost much more than a typical console and is six months old but can serve media to our television at Full HD in the other room while I'm playing games at a higher level at the same time. Then, while I'm playing a game I can easily switch to do other tasks while the game is still running. It's just better value for what you get and it is illogical to view it as otherwise.

See above. Please understand, I do have a console as well. However, I'm not just a PC or console fanboy who "locks in" to only one option. At the end of the day, for me it is not an either-or. I have and play both and each device is good for certain purposes.

Who cares which one sells better? Honestly, why does it matter at this point? It's just a big pissing contest to see who can draw the biggest dollar sign in the snow. Pretty much the same games on both consoles. Pretty much the same quality hardware. Pretty much my old PC already kicks the A$$ out of either of these.

In 1983 I got an Atari 2600.  I was 11 at the time.  Freakin' good times on that bad boy.  :)  My friend had the original Pong.  Another had the Intellivision.  Another had the TI-99.

I actually did a master's thesis on the topic.  It turns out that GS reviews are 75.43% reliable.
