This thread is full of undesirables on both sides making a big deal of a 1.4 million gap in sales. Fact is both sides are hypocrites from the speeches they both made about sales between the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.,

3do got cut because of early price. BUT started selling like wild fire at $500 it was never a problem for them, they made money, it was the 3 who built the devices that lost money. Oh well, unethical or not, genius move.

Neo Geo was horribly marketed and so was the PS3 but sony had brand power of around 10+ years by that time.

If anything the 3DO sold more at $500 than the other two.

Google's android service for games. it will be in a shell similar to ChromeOs but be licensed for other to use. Made specifically for games and watching movies.

Objective is to push Chromeos into the living room with tons of games on googleplay. While also providing other media.

We got a Wii which got probably right next to 5 million and got a boost from the holiday sales.

We got the Xbox one and PS4 in close competition just around 1.4 million apart. We'll see if they maintain both their momentums.

Steam Machine was announced and apparently has tons of hype on polls by thousands.

It looks like the Xbox and PS4 most likely boosted the console space, and Valve is about to clash with google over a similar goal, but going to it in a different direction.

This could possibly be the best upcoming years in gaming history if no one screws up.

TC your math does not make sense. %'s change as the number grows. The current percentage the PS4 is ahead is relatively small. If they both had over 20 million you would have a point.

Anyway this is a close race.
