@lithus: He's not saying you can't create games in the same genre or with the same theme, he's just saying if you do a direct copy, without adding a bit of extra spice to it, or without innovating, you'll always be playing catch-up, and there's a chance to get lost in the crowd of other similar games.

This has to be the biggest practical joke in gaming history. Lol.

@pcps4xb: No, he said "It's a better movie game while still being a game". I think that last part was a clear indication that he was saying the game managed to be better from a cinematic standpoint, while also still having proper gameplay. There's no other way I can read it unless he outright states otherwise.

You are chasing imaginary bait. Or rather, you're projecting your expectations onto others, and then acting on it, irrespective of the reality.

You failed to correct him on anything, because everything you supposedly addressed was merely based on your own assumptions and not based on what he actually said.

@pcps4xb: To be honest, you are the one being needlessly antagonistic. I never saw XenomorphAlien hating on God of War, he just mentioned the game was cinematic while still being a game, and as someone who has played God of War and loved it, I can say that statement is pretty much spot on.

Saying a game has a cinematic experience doesn't mean that it suffers in gameplay. After all, the two features are not mutually exclusive, and the best games out there tend to get both sides of the equation right. He also never said it was a bad thing for the game to have both, as you tried to imply in your earlier comment.

Basically, this entire comment thread involves what to comes across to me as a group of overly sensitive fanboys trying to insinuate that XenomorphAlien said things he never actually did, or imply he meant things he might have not. It's frankly embarrassing to read. I mean where do you even get this question: "Are you saying a game with awesome gameplay and cinematic is a bad thing?" Lol...

Perhaps instead of calling others "kiddo", you should try to be a bit less sensitive, and behave more like an adult yourself.

@xnshd: Eh, we have a nice article about something truly positive, but there's always that one guy that has to turn it into a fanboy war. Good job demonstrating your priorities. Lol.

@davidhardcore: Ah, it's not that I actually disagree with you in that regard. The author certainly could have put it as a con if it was a negative point for them. It's just that I don't think it's enough issue to make a big deal out of. I mean, most of the comments section has been people complaining about that one particular point, and to me it just seems like too trivial an issue to dedicate so much energy to.

My only point is that if you can already discern what you need just from reading the review, does it really matter if it's a 9 or 10 because of a potentially missing negative in the summary? Will it stop GoW from being a great game, or people from buying it? It's fine to criticize but if we're always expecting the world and for people to cater to our every whim and desire, regardless of whether they are important or insignificant, we're always going to be disappointed.

@skippert: Indeed. It's just a matter of whether he personally thought it was worth having as a listed negative I guess. I still think people care a bit too much about it though. I'm sure there are plenty of reviewers who will give this game the equivalent of a 10/10. It just seems like a bit of a non-issue to me.

And, certainly, it won't by any means stop me from getting the game and enjoying it. XD

@davidhardcore: I've honestly never read a game review in the vein of what you're describing, where the reviewer would go out of their way to justify every single point in the score in detail. If you can find such a review, you're more than welcome to post it for interests sake, but I honestly doubt you will.

The written review itself will already gives us insight into the quality of the game, while the score is just a vague sum that gives us the reviewer's general consensus. And, as I mentioned before, the reviewer did in fact relate on areas where the game did let him down a bit. Did you perhaps gloss over it and not read it properly?

What you are asking for is spoon feeding, there's no other way to describe it honestly.
