I started playing the HL series right from HL2:EP1, and even though I don't know ONE GOD DAMN THING about the story, what's this city, what's this citadel, who the hell is everyone shooting at me, this game is entertaining! It makes me want to REALLY know what's behind the things I don't understand, by playing older games..
[QUOTE="PredatorRules"]i'm going to buy soon GeForce 7900GS or a 8800GTS....should i wait or....?PredatorRules
If you can wait a little longer, I heard that Geforce 9 is coming until the end of year...
yeah half year without gaming hmm sounds like mission impossible but..lol i might do it
coz right now my video card got ruined and hopefully they'll be able to fix it...it's 4 months right? when the 9 series will come out the 8800 is going to get low on price...but 4 months without gaming...the horror....the pain...the misery....lol
I had an onboard-video card from November to last May. I suffered alot, I played old-school games alot, but eventually it paid off and I got a 8800GTS right when the USD$ was in its low.. so I got it cheap here.
Microsoft screwed all the DX10 early adopters.Elite_Spartan21
I "adopted" my 8800GTS 320MB not because of its previously unknown DX10 performance, but because it was the best vid card in my budget. And I'm not going to get Vista soon, so I'll enjoy extremely high performance in DX9 for a long time... and when I'm gonna NEED a DX10\DX10.1 or whatever card better than my card, I've already saved up enough money for it.
Maybe I will PM you with something else that will allow you to cover these games... a very small but useful link... but then again I wouldn't risk being banned...
Specify your budget and I will tell you which of the two companies offer a better card. In the 500$+ Nvidia rule, the 400$ segment is highly debatable, the 300$ is where the 8800GTS 320MB wins, and underneath (spelling?) it's best to take ATI's 1950XT, 1950PRO. Under those, you're gonna not enjoy the game in fully quality (not you can't enjoy the same).
Thanks to Fraps I take pictures all the time. Well, almost. It's fun to capture cool slides in DiRT, or maybe a memorable moment in HL2. So far, I haven't played many games worth taking pictures in them. But I do have plenty of DiRT or HL2 pictures.
The X1600 is a reasonable low to mid-range card. It should play most current games except the particularly demanding ones. What sort of games do you want to play anyhow?ben2000
It can play demanding games, but not on high resolution and settings.
