"He also said that Black Tusk will try stay true to Gears of War canon for its new game, but he made it clear that the studio won't have any reservations about deviating if it's in the interest of fun."

Uh oh... I wonder who that reminds me of... *cough343coughindustriescoughhalobuyoutcough* Yeah. That's going to end well. And yes, I'm still bitter over what Halo's being turned into. I'd rather not see it in Gears of War too. It'd be a travesty. Gears was a masterpiece. Gears of War: Judgment was okay. And now they want to deviate from canon because Microsoft MAY want to. LEAVE IT ALONE. You risk series fatigue syndrome.

I'm not usually negative in my comments but this is just garbage. Even Lester Speight might not be enough to save this, given the chance. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he'll be there, but one man can only do so much.

@PixelAddict True, but you have to also wonder if maybe one of them is reading this right now. I'm pretty sure they comb websites for general public reaction to their announcements, they don't just take one survey group and assume that's what the general public's reaction would be. If they're smart about it, they know already everyone's going to be 50/50 about it. (Though on here it seems more like 85/15, with majority not being in favor of it.) They won't risk a huge shift in their sales with a really bad move, (and like I said, this is IF they're smart about it.) like slapping on items you can only get with real currency that give you a huge advantage in a competitive multiplayer situation. And I'm pretty sure others have tried that before and killed their competitive multiplayer component and scared away an entire fan base. :)

My thoughts? Everyone needs to calm the heck down. It's not like this is a first for EA, and it's not the first time they (Or other developers/publishers for that matter) have done it. Did everyone forget about Mass Effect 3, where they implemented the SAME EXACT SYSTEM for multiplayer? Didn't see too many complaints then, doubt it's going to be an issue when the game launches. The fact of the matter is, they have already stated that players will not be able to get maxed out straight from the get go. They'll have to advance far enough through gameplay before that can happen. This implies that you can still max out with the in-game currency, just like Mass Effect 3 does.

Let me also be clear on something else: I normally don't defend EA. I don't like the direction they take things either. But I can think of a lot of other developers/publishers that do WAY worse, with DLC that would have otherwise had good implementation. This is something SO small in comparison to some of the other ways they try to get your money.

@braedo_the_stud: The long explanation is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antialiasing though this may go over some people's heads. The short explanation: Antialiasing is the "smoothing" of rough edges on images, done sometimes by resampling the image. When game developers create in-game 3D objects, they have to use a very literal, and digital system for creating them that follows polygons, vertices, and so on and so forth. Since it's created using this digital system, when actually rendered it can still look very "artificial" - in other words, you can see the pixels actually making the model "jagged-looking". Antialiasing smooths out the bumps, making it look more "organic" and not like it was created from something digital. Returning to the topic, a thought I failed to post earlier in my comment - regardless of what people say, from playing Portal and playing Portal 2, there IS a graphics leap, but not much of one. Graphics may not be the focus of the game, but it is still important, especially when conveying a puzzle to be solved to the player. So visual style is important. The interesting thing is that the details in this graphics comparison are so minor most people who play on one console or a PC won't notice a difference at all. Which only outlines my earlier point. it's not a huge graphical leap. Are people expecting too much? Perhaps. As long as you give me more awesome puzzles, really won't be staring at the shadows on the walls all that much will I? :)

The only true difference I am noticing with the versions of the game are: -PS3 lighting seem to have less intensity (Lack of HDR? Not sure...) and seems to look "duller"or "darker" than 360 and PC versions. -Glass perhaps has the best "see-through" effect on PC - PS3 version seems to "frost" the glass more and 360 version it looks as if the vines are "bleeding" over the glass's actual frosting marks. -Textures seem to have a *bit* more detail on PC and PS3 versions from 360, most likely due to PC being able to set the bar as high or as low as it likes, provided system can handle it, and between 360 and PS3... I'm inclined to believe 360 is capable of rendering textures like PS3, but due to media format compression to fit it onto a DVD, they have to give something away. -Water reflections look more prominent/detailed on 360 than other versions, but this could be the moment the shot was taken. Another great comparison article. Thank you guys! :) Personally I have the 360 version of Portal 2, haven't gotten around to playing it very much lately, but it's good to see that aside from a few minor things, it's the same game across all platforms and still has all the wacky I've come to know and love. Need to try co-op, heard it's a blast when you find people who don't mess around. Still confused on how PSN/PC Steam co-op works, heard something about that, but I'm sure I won't have a problem finding anyone.
