The game is great. Most people on these forums are too young to form an unbiased opinion. Unfortunately there's no free trial, so you'll have to watch videos and decide for yourself

Aureoloss

Just for your knowledge oh supposedly wise sir. Opinions are always full of bias the existance of an unbiased opinion is a complete oxymoron in every regards.

To understand what an opinion is and what bias means there is no possible way to wish for an unbiased opinion.

To help this supposedly old wise one out. He enjoys the game and thinks it is great.

Watching videos is a silly waste of time, it is a one time buy game, if you cannot afford to buy it then you might want to rethink your free time and get further gainful employment so that you have more fluid luxury cash.

It is worth a purchase and play to see if it is your type of game.

If you are a frequent player of many MMOS my response in this post may help by providing you with detailed information on game breakdown.

Its pretty easy to break this down if you have actually played the game, starting to wonder if a majority of the responding posters have even played the game.

If you want to speak of End Game as you are refering, there is none. And from the responses they have given at multiple question and answer sessions they dont plan to create any anytime soon.

PvE wise your trip to 80 will be filled with a very linear trip, especially after level 30 when you have basically unlocked all your skills. From 30-80 your skill set will be unchanged.

Yes im aware of any aspect of this you think is misleading but it is quite true. The only change from 30-80 is your traits the brother of the talent tree.

Traits are in most cases much weaker in their impact on your skills you already use, but in addition to changing certain skills they also give passive stats per each point.

Im most cases around level 50 you will have been doing the same thing for atleast 20 levels if not more with the same skills. This can be a very big downer to your enjoyment if you let it.

Dungeons cover the 30-80 level PvE trip and help you to keep current gear along the way, ESPECIALLY with no trading post/aka AH working since the game opened on headstart.

Once at 80, PvE is dead. Yes, no BS PvE has no more significance at 80 than at any level after 30. There are gear sets to collect with dungeon token, which can be done in a few days, and after this there is currently nothing else to strive for.

With the design on this it does not seem likely they will release harder dungeons with higher level gear, that just dosent seem likely with the way things were designed.

ON TO PVP

PvP is a whole different animal, and the saving grace of the game if you enjoy PVP. There are two types of pvp in this game World vs World and Heart of the Mists.

World vs World or WvW is your classic battle ground zerg fest. On an extremely large scale you attempt to control various locations using a complex system of supply.

There is very little organization to this map and normally only a handful of people are putting up the money to buy the correct items needed for assaults.

The map shows where the assaults are beginning but other than that it is up to stalk in /map to determine if you get enough people to the correct location at the correct time.

NOT structured PVP in any way.

You are also scaled to level 80 regardless of you level, but if you are lower than 80 you do not gain additional traits or skills. In reality if you are below level 30 you are at a huge disadvantage compared to the players who are.

Heart of the Mists is a totally different animal. Totally structured pvp max of 8v8 or a 16 player map. And there are various maps that change after each win.

At entrance of Heart of the Mists you will be instantly changed into a level 80. NOT Scaled changed. You obtain all traits and all skills regardless of level.

You will have to spend time retraiting yourself to the build you wish AND building and Armor/Weapon/Necklace set with the desired stats you wish.

Vendors have all this stuff for free, you simply must arange it as you wish.

After that there are both quick join servers where you can que solo to get some play time in, and Tournament que where you need your own team.

This the the truely structured PVP and the star of the game.

In summary GW2 is very differnt than other top MMOS currently and NOT for everyone, the hype of being a WoW killer was a little silly as this games PVE is a totally joke. Raids are non existant and some people play MMOs just for that aspect.

As a player of GW2 I find the game much more highly balanced towards PVP and having very little for those that crave very structured PVE.

This game is borderline terrible. How the hell is it in the top games list, yet the forums are empty.

Thank god for the people that make pirated games availible for testing purposes. Would have sucked to actually pay for this just to find out it is awful.

You made a topic telling us about your buddy rage quitting the game and that this issue is already discussed heavily on the boards for the actual game?

Thank you very informative.

Your train of thought is rather odd.

Found out GW2 which comes out in a tad under 2 months has no raids.

Currently playing RIFT, but getting bored.

Wanting to know if The Secret World, has raids.

Returning to WOW, im guessing if TSW dosent have a raiding environment?

You dont seem to understand how things work.

By game design, it is literally impossible to have a raid as you are thinking of it in a game that dosent contain tank/heals/dps.

So the fact that you included GW2 and your discovery makes no sense.

If all you are looking for in a game is raiding as a main priority and not much else..... Rift is going to be pretty much the best you can hope for currently.

Wows raiding experience is just not as good as Rift's at the moment, but it does offer a varience in other catagories.

GW2 is going to focus on other aspects, but I dont see it ever including raiding as you are thinking of it.

More along the lines of a raiding event with multiple objectives and mobs in a single large senario is the closest thing you are going to get to a raid.

I guess im honestly surprised that someone who has truely raided and cleared all current content in wow would leave for an extended period of time and have the urge to return before an expansion....

Easy Fix.

DONT BUY MATURE GAMES.

If you want to play violent games then get used to foul words. If you dont want to play those games then you shouldnt have a problem.

It is like saying "I want my 4 year old son to be able to shoot someone in the head with no blood, why is there no filter on this game"

If your Christian morality means that much to you, you would be playing those type of games regardless.
