Yeah there's a big probability of this policy being changed at Microsoft's E3 presser.

Those were the RTS games I had on PC and Xbox 360 as obviously the 360 didn't have Company of Heros, Dawn of War 2 or Starcraft II. You should rather not assume things.

It's great it's a choice now but the biggest reason they had it required for the system was that they went optional the first time around and the attach rate was big but not as big as everyone with a Xbox 360. Still, we could use some old Kinect ports to go along with the improved hardware, like Kinect Fruit Ninja, Child of Eden, Gunstringer, Dance Central games, Kinect Adventure/Sports games. Agreed, as of now there's no games for the new Kinect that make people want to pick it up. I'll still use my Kinect for Skype and voice commands but we need something like EndWar damnit! lol

@ChiefReaver @grove12345 The biggest thing is just having a microphone isn't going to work, while having a dedicated listening machine, with hardware and power to itself as well, with algorithms to understand voice is the way to go. Voice recognition is one of the hardest things to pull off.

I enjoyed C&C 3 (and Kane's Wrath), Battle for Middle Earth II, Supreme Commander II & Universe at War: Earth Assault on PC so much I picked them up on 360 (when I found deals on them). BfME II was probably the best of the bunch and I was also one who liked Halo Wars on 360. I'd def look forward for some RTS games on the One, would be mind blown if Halo Wars 2 was revealed at E3.

@BelaidKL Yeah that example shows you why they don't just use voice commands through a headset. I'd love to see a RTS game or even a Port of End War for use of the Kinect, think it'd work fairly well.

Haha, to think I wanted Falcon's Frag box a few years back when I was still in college, ahead of their time.

Nah, a game's design should be fundamentally scalable and not just really hard or really easy. Being able to play a game on normal or on hurt me plenty says a lot about the game design's quality and you can see this with classics like Doom and recently with the Mass Effect games. You play the game squarely differently and it still is because it's hard, not cheap.

Like I said when this study was reported by gaming news sites, this isn't a big enough pool. It depends on the genre chosen and of course MMOs are going to show more social trends because that's the point of MMOs and LAN parties. It's like the equivalent of studying athletes and then looking just at golf players.
