I disagree about as hard as I can. High price point home consoles like what happened with the PS3 and to a lesser extent the 360 are taking gaming the opposite direction of what the market can handle. Same with Hollywood. This idea of always bigger, better, and more expensive has, I think, his a point where only a few devs can survive and publishers will start axing all but the "sure things" in an effort to appeal to their boards. I personally would hope for a cheaper system and a smaller jump in power, and a renewed focus from MS and Sony on the smaller, indie games like your Braid or Journey to supplement the major releases from the big guys.

High end graphics like those images cost a ton of money to produce.

Honestly, I'd rather have more games and inferior graphics, than fewer games and graphics like the pictures you just showed us.

Very few development studios can afford $20 million+ budgets.

Sad to say it, but I completely agree. Gaming needs to return to the days of the NES development where the norm was creativity, small teams, and small budgets.

You can incorporate motion into normal games. You don't need to give up a controller. Just takes a developer to learn that.

LOL no. Console games have a lot more hurdles to leap before that statement becomes true. Get back to me when you console gamers have a game with full Ray Tracing, Tesselation, SSAO, Indirect Illumination advanced partical systems ect ect.

And what does that really have to do with the claim that it would look better? You don't need all that to just look better.

What kind of nonsense is this? The ps3 isn't done until it is discontinued.

Will probably end up several million up from the 360 when all is said and done. Microsoft doesn't have the development resources to support the 360 as long as Sony can support the ps3.

You're kidding me, right? Microsoft is a behemoth of a company, and towers over both Sony and Nintendo. The amount of money they make from the Windows OS alone is ridiculous. Nintendo, that only produces GAMES, is a much larger company than Sony, that has several different branches. I'm not saying Sony is a small company, but both Microsoft and Nintendo have more money to bank their respective consoles for longer than Sony.

The fact is, unless for some miraculous reason Sony changes the six year-long trend of Microsoft selling more consoles monthly, they won't pass it. They're behind and they aren't outgrowing the difference, there's absolutely no reason to think the PS3 will pass Microsoft's console.

Last year, MS had about 5 times the revenue as Ninty, for a rough comparison.

Never said being hardcore was ideal. :3

We differ in opinion on definition, but someone playing games to the detriment of other things needs help like any other addict. Just saying.

[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]That's called a perk, and it comes with paid services. Remember all the people complaining about the "free" PSN games to PS+ people? Same thing.senses_fail_06
This isn't a perk, its assr*pe to the consumer. Also IIRC this feature was available to silver members at some point. Hiding it behind a paywall is a joke, a god damn joke.

You all ready got shown to be wrong. You already showed you don't care about your rep. Why don't you stop now while you are just looking foolish to us up this late?

Quiet drone and go back to your union where you can circle-jerk your virtual friends until you have come up with a real response.

Great reply. Sure makes me want to ever take you seriously.
