I smell scam.JuggaloRandall

I actually tried this once while I was in college. While it "technically" worked (I did end up getting a Wii), it was by NO means free. First off, a lot of those "free trial" offers don't exactly make it easy to cancel. Read the fine print, and after you still jump through all of their corporate BS you probably still *will* get billed even after you "cancel" your "free trial". This means more phone calls, more hours on hold, and more filing credit disputes. Then there's all the wasted time spent trying to convince 5-10 OTHER people that this isn't a scam.

Long story short, nothing in life is free. You get what you pay for. I spent weeks worth of time and energy trying to get this Wii for free. Not to mention every now and again I still get a solicitor phone call which I'm pretty sure got my number through one of these offers. Now that I'm out of college, I can get one on one day's worth of wages. Just go out and get one the old fashioned way-with money you earn from a real job. If you can't afford one now, wait until you can. Trust me, you'll be happier you did.

[QUOTE="George_M"]

I already got one with Tiger Woods 10. I plan to pick up a second one with Wii Sports Resort.

wiidskirby

My plan, as well.

This. As a rule of thumb, I never by any sports games. However, the M+ enticed me into this one. I can honestly say that I'm not disappointed. M+ works just as well as advertised, and the game of TW10 plays so smooth with the M+ that you honestly can get enjoyment out of it even if you don't play golf. It's that damn good. It basically transcends the genre for me and strikes me as a game anyone can play.

I don't throw my controllers around the room when I play, so I don't really care if it has a soft coating or not. That being said, I don't mind them, but it's SUPER annoying to take them off to attach something like a Wii Wheel for Mario Kart. Because of that, I keep one remote with the jacket off and the other three have them on (plus I don't trust my friends as much to not throw them :) ). Problem solved.

We know.

However I'm willing to bet, most, if not all, exclusive DSi games will be by Nintendo themselves. At least for now as DSi sales are futile compared to DS/DSL.

Next-Gen-Tec

while yes, DSi only has sold 3 million in 4 months, newly released, and yes 100 million normal DS owners are there, but the DSi (in japan and looks to be everywhere else too) has been outselling DS lite healthy about 5 or 7 to 1.

the other week in JP it was 65k to 8k.

it will happen, at one point next year or so there will be 10-25 million DSi owners. additionally i wouldn't be shocked if the DSi hit $129.99 or $149.99 this year

Maybe you're right, but in the mean time, I don't think 3rd party's will choose to develop exclusively for DSi instead of DS Lite (i.e. all DS's).

I'm not worried about not upgrading just yet. It's exactly the same situation that happened between the Gameboy and Gameboy Pocket vs Gameboy Color. At first, new games that came out were "enhanced for Gameboy color" but were perfectly backwards compatible with the older models. Only a handful of noteworthy titles were exclusive to the Gameboy Color, and I suspect there will be much the same. Nintendo doesn't want to alienate a install base of over 100 million.

On Public Transport = Yes

In a Bar = No

DS is good for when you waiting to get somewhere but when you're out with your friends, reguardless of chick repellant or not I would find it very rude if one of any of my friends started playing their DS while we were hanging out.

radicalplace

This. I'll also occasionally play it during my breaks if the hectic work schedule mandates I can't get a break with any of my coworkers/friends.

Most of my friends don't own any game systems, so I bought 4 for when a group of people come over. It's just easier that way. No syncing them up before and after, no wondering whose remote belongs to who, etc etc.

All four get busted out probably two or three times a month for games like Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party 8, SSBB, Wii Sports etc. Usually I only need two (one for me and the fiance).

DQ VI isn't even out in Japan yet? I didn't know that since DQ XI is coming out there in July that's weird...

Flamestos

It is a weird situation. However, two seperate devopers are working on the two games. DQ9 is being made by Level-5, DQ6 is by Arte Piazza. There's a lot of hype surrounding DQ IX right now, and even if the two are completed at around the same time, I believe they will delay VI and go ahead and release IX as scheduled. VI is probably taking longer to develop since a remake for it has never been released before.

I'm wondering that too. I'm still on DQ IV and would like to know when DQ games switch from first person battles to third? I think it's VIII but not sure.

Bigboi500

Kablamo, you are correct. Dragon Quest VIII is when they switch from 1st person to 3rd person battles.

It took 5 months from DQ IV to DQ V to be released here if that trend continues we should be seeing DQ VI in July. The date is still TBA though.

Flamestos

The game isn't out in Japan yet, so it will take a lot longer than that. I predict about 6-8 months AFTER the Japanese release. My best guess is you won't be playing this until around May of next year. The only reason the turn around betwee IV and V was so quick last time because V was out in Japan before IV was even released in the USA.
