Used games help developers sell their games because the player can play their game and if they like it, buy and pre-order their games in the future. I didn't know anything about Grasshopper Manufacture but I bought No More Heroes pre-owned and loved it. Then I went and pre-ordered Shadows of the Damned and now Lollipop Chainsaw. My wallet isn't always full as well and I prefer to buy pre-owned games when I can.
I myself am guilty of pre-ordering AC III just for the steelcase. AC III isn't my kind of game though and I'll likely transfer the money to something else. But I agree: most people pre-order games now because they want the pre-order bonuses. While I do that too, I also pre-order games to show my support for the developers of the game.
As a response to the tablet controller... look how easy it is to hold. It's been reported to be light which of course is important but other than the screen, it's a standard gaming controller. All the face buttons are within easy reach and there is a GRIP on the back of the tablet so it is more comfortable to use. Atari completely failed because of their controller and no modern gaming company is going to make the same mistake when it comes to ergonomics.
Nothing is known of any of these consoles as of yet. People may laugh at the Wii and Wii U for their controllers but look at what has happened. Sony and Microsoft both follow Nintendo into the motion control market; Sony directly copying the Wiimote and Nunchuck with PS Move controller and Nav controller. Who's to say that when Microsoft and Sony reveal their consoles they won't copy Nintendo again? The whole industry, is based on copying what Nintendo has made and make it their own. They may be better, but you can't forget the roots of today's gaming consoles today. Nintendo is the reason for your gaming today. Without Nintendo, the industry may exist only on PC or not at all. Laugh and thumb me down if you will but I speak the truth.
Nintendo has never dissappointed when it comes to consoles (with the exception of the Virtual Boy). I trust Nintendo will do well with this new console too. Nintendo is my favourite company of all time and I'm hoping for their sake, their new system is revolutionary and kick Microsoft's and Sony's butts.
