You can buy a USB cooler, that you can point to the frontal ventilation holes of the PS2 and suck the hot air out.

Also you can move to the north pole.

G-Man88

I'll start packing. But so far Ive seen one USB cooler designed for the slim and it was worthless, I dont have a whole lot of room for anything bigger unfortunately.

I just got a used slim PS2, Ive noticed the bottom of the system (when sitting horizontally) gets extremely hot, to the point where it feels like it would potentially damage the system. I switched it to a vertical position and noticed it seemed a bit cooler, but not much. Since Ive heard stories of overheating, melting etc, what can I do to reduce the heat? Or is it just normal and nothing to worry about? So far Ive had no issues playing games, but I also havent played it for more than maybe 2 hours at a time, with the exception of a DVD or two.

Do they have achievements or are they straight ports? Because if these games are BC, I could go buy two used discs for the price of one download.

I downloaded the update early this morning, played Rock Band for about 30 minutes, and I had no problems at all. I haven't been on my 360 since this morning so I don't know how things have been over the last several hours, but I had no problems this morning.

Xbox.com, on the other hand, is not working for me at all.

Xbox.com never works...its always having one problem or another. But its also not linked to Xbox Live at all, so its not any indication. Xbox.com never works for me when Xbox Live almost always does.

Just some lag between messages/menus. CoD4 plays fine, Im assuming Halo does too. But so far nothing has actually forced me to reset my box or any of that. Just minor 15-30 second annoyances here and there. The problems you're having aren't widespread, some just come from too many people online at once, Live doesnt have enough bandwidth to handle it. Overall Im happy with the update, once they fix this lag it will be good for me.

Its sure as hell better than Microsofts Zune update, which completely ruined everything for everyone.

And thankfully, no BSoD's yet.

I just played a match and I did notice the menus between single and multiplayer were lagging pretty bad, same with sending messages. Live is just overloaded right now, they cant keep up with all the people online.

Give it time, there are how many million people downloading this update plus marketplace. I've really had no problems so far. It has a lot more to load now, assuming you have a decent internet connection, it shouldnt take long. Mine took maybe 30 seconds first time to load everything which is tolerable for now.

Mine takes a few seconds to load the dash when I boot, but after that I had no problems. It ran pretty much identical to the old dash as far as navigation.
