I am currently on my third. I never have had the ring of death but the first one lasted for 6 months and then started freezing on every game, so I took it back and got a new one. The second console lasted for 8 months and then stopped reading discs. So I took it back and got a new one and that one has worked great so far and I've had it for 6 months. I also have two Elites and I have had no problems with them for the last 4 months.

And Fire Emblem is less then a week after all those (and just a little before those theres Table Tennis and the Naruto game, both of which I might get).

I think theres about 13 games from October-December that I want. Thats just crazy!

I am def. getting table tennis. I loved it on my 360 and cannot wait to use the Wii controls to play it.

Idont think thAT THE YUPE OVER gears will ever go away there is always a fun point in game's but gears bought somthing new to the table and that was great gears is the best onlinr game i have ever played that is a shooter and is up there with Halo's online game play so i think that the yupe over gears might slow down a little bit but the game it self will never fad away. take me for example i play gears right but i dont play it much like i used to i play computer games to when i first got the game i was like o my god this is the best game ever i loved it but now i put down my controler for awail and get on the computer to play so mPc games im a gamer that's what i do i love video games a will for ever and gear's is one of thouse games that you just can't put down the controler after starting it up.

Go Gear

For a 6 year old, have you thought about Elebits or perhaps Barnyard? You may need to play with him, but that is what the second remote is for. And if you do not have a second remote, buy the one that comes with the Wii Play games pack, as some of those would be good for your son as well.Nomadandsuzie

Yea, I also bought him the Wii play and I bought another controller so we have 3 incase my wife wants to play. I will def. be playing the games with him thought and like I said in the original post, he does very well on my 360. Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions.

The point of WarioWare is to put together easy games in a fast way that gets increasingly challenging until they can no longer be done. While not extremely hard, the game is not easy and can be quite frustrating as some of the microgames involve quite precisely timed or motioned actions... although it's colorful and fun, it may also be quite frustrating.

Mario Party is a great game with wonderful multiplayer that you could easily play with or against him. It has settings to keep the harder games out if he wants, and doesn't get old fast.

MySims may also be quite fun for gamers of all ages...

Yea, I was looking at WarioWare and thought the same thing. I might get it later when he gets better at using the controller. I already bought him Mario Party since it looked fun and somewhat easier to play. I appreciate all the feedback and it sounds like he will enjoy his B-day present very much, plus I get to play it also. Bonus!

My son's 6th B-day is next month and I purchased a Wii for him. I wanted to know if you know of anyone that has a child as young as my son and if they are able to play the Wii w/o problem. I personally think he will be fine, but my wife is now wondering. He's played Viva Pinata on my 360 and has done fine, so I think he will do alright. I'd also like to know what are the better children games out right now that he could play and enjoy. Thanks for any help.

I drink sometimes when I play. I am a very competitive person so I don't like to screw up my chances of winning though. I usually just pop a couple xanax and chill. I find I play a lot better when the nerves are gone.
