Can I add to this list?

Diablo III; Deux Ex: Human Revolution; Gears of War 3; Mass Effect 3: Special Edition.

Are you sure this functionality works? It doesn't seem to work for any game on my list.

I was reading the PC Game of the Year article, and thinking about the decision of Path of Exile as the PC GotY.

One thought that came to mind is that: this is why I visit Gamespot.

This is not about Path of Exile, but that I find that quite often the guys and gals at Gamespot are more measured in their approach compared with other gaming sites. By that I mean, people like Kevin Van Ord and others here at Gamespot are often mindful enough to look past the hype somewhat, and support games based more on their relative merits.

By comparison, I find that other gaming websites tend to gravitate more toward the hype train, and simply award games with the biggest advertising budgets ie. CoD/Starcraft for GotY. (- Not that's not OK, just that often the smaller titles don't really get given a fair shot).

It takes a mindful, measured and - sane - people to be able to do that - which comes with experience, personal maturity, and some degree of wisdom, not just "your ability to write reviews" - and also the courage to buck the trend sometimes.

Of course, nobody's perfect - we're all human - but really I find that it is those qualities that bring me back to Gamespot year after year for my gaming news, compared to other gaming websites.

So cheers for the hard work Gamespot team, and Merry Christmas.

For me the game was generic, buggy and boring. I bought it at release, and regretted it. I shouldn't have to mod a game to high heaven to make it enjoyable. IMO since Oblivion they've watered down the series to cater to a wider market, but it's turned the game into a shallow, generic fantasy action game.

Strong points: Great character customization, open world, exploratory gameplay.

Weak points: Everything feels a bit generic. The combat (90% of game-time) is horrible. All the monsters scale with your character, so you never feel like you're getting stronger, and it's ridiculous to see common bandits that have god-like gear, that even towns/guards don't have. The "RPG" side of things, from a technical point of view (such as stats/leveling/loot), is extremely shallow.

IMO it depends on what you like. If you like a well-crafted, on-rails type of game experience, with a strong story, or technical RPGs with complex stat systems, I think you'll be disappointed in Skyrim. If you DGAF and just want to swing a sword and slay monsters without any real challenge, and explore an uncharted world, then you'll enjoy it.

IMO Morrowind is the best in the series. I'd still play that over Skyrim or Oblivion!

In the top-right corner of the site, just below the login area, there is a white/black color theme toggle - the "a|a" button.

I prefer the white theme as I find it easier on my eyes.

For some reason the site doesn't remember my choice, or only remembers it inconsistently. When I come back to the site, or refresh the page, it is black again. When I click the toggle button, it only works sporadically - e.g. white/black/black/black/black/black/white/black - when logically it should toggle from black to white with every click.

I've been finding it a real nuisance when I visit the site. I use Firefox (latest). I tried testing the site in Chrome, and I have a near opposite problem - the site only shows the white theme, e.g. clicking the toggle button gives me white/white/white/white/white/white.

I'm sorry if this is a known issue or has been posted before; I didn't see it anywhere :)

I hope this post helps you improve the site. Cheers.
