The reason Sims are called boring is because its the same routine for a race. go 4 laps in a certain car and it can put someone to sleep, especially when each lap takes 3 minutes.
I have both and I say Reach would give you more of a good time if you like the multiplayer. It actually isnt as bad as you think. I think its worse in Halo 3 because you actually have a chance to win in Reach where as in 3, you dont have much if your team sucks. Plus, Forge mode is spectacular in Reach I love both 3 and Reach, but Reach is the way to go if you want to get the most out of a game.
